Vinegar doesn't dissolve natural rubber, or synthetic rubber😎
Best to use the high strength vinegar, £20 for 20 litres, works much quicker.
Put an old cycle chain in tank, then shake❤

I use vinegar to clean a lot of stuff. Use it in my ultrasonic cleaner all the time. Adding a little heat to it makes it work like 50 times faster. I'm wondering how your tank looks after some time? In my experience vinegar will remove almost all surface protection, anodizing and such, the factory puts there as a corrosion inhibitor. I would be afraid the tank will look awesome right after treatment but would soon be covered with corrosion since there is no protection anymore.

This tank still looks well, it has just sat empty and not been used. Best thing is keep them full of ethanol free fuel

Thanks, worth it, feet soaked, jeans soaked, back aching, but £100 less than several cans of commercial product.
