He was actually a very popular Prince of Wales and the nation had high hopes for King Edward VIII but as history showed us the abdication was a blessing in disguise.
You read and are swayed too much by the incessant bile coming from the press. Charles would beat any cheap politician hands down for care, intelligence and leadership.
Charles originally had 5 O-levels, most children leave school with 8 to 12 (or modern equivalent GCSEs). He failed maths which ordinarily excludes you from university but was tutored for another two years to get a very basic level before leaving school. In an ordinary comprehensive school he would've been near the bottom of the class and that's not accounting for him actually having one of the most expensive educations available. He's clearly not very intelligent.

The original 'changing of the guard' ceremony involved a member of the household cavalry sexually defiling and then strangling a live penguin in the middle of Horse Guards Parade. It was not uncommon for onlookers to faint due to the shocking nature of the scene.
The ceremony was altered in 1891 due to reports that visiting foreign dignitaries had described the spectacle as 'upsetting' and 'barbaric' Keen to avoid a diplomatic incident, the penguin element of the ceremony was removed completely.
I would have to see proof before I believe that one.

It is Thursday 16th of July 1936, the 42nd birthday of HM King Edward the Eighth. As the film shows, he takes the Salute at The Trooping of the Colours.
The "assassin" was an Irish journalist called George Andrew MacMahon, real name Jerome Brannigan, who held a grudge against the British Hone Secretary Sir John Simon.
King Edward saw the object as it landed between the hooves of his horse, his immediate and instant reaction was that was a bomb or a grenade . MacMahon was sentenced to twelve months hard labour for "producing a revolver with intent to alarm the King."

He is still in mourning for his father , as shown by the black armband . His father died in january 1936 and it looks as if there is still some snow on the ground , so this is very early 1936 . Anyway i think Edward was born in june 1894 and not july .
