You don’t need to do any of this, reach behind the bulb unscrew the lock ring, replace the bulb screw the lock ring back. Takes less than 3 minutes this way. Their way easily takes a half an hour.

Got a bulb at AutoZone and they were able to just unscrew the bulb out of the back headlight housing instead of removing the whole thing
