It’s so sad. I have many memories there. I want to thank my childhood friends family who introduced me to the culture that was this place. It is what I know and will always remember about Torrance. Thank you for all the memories 😢❤
This is very sad, I drove by there 2 months ago and I wanted to go there and check it out, but of course I did not and now have missed out. Another institution gone in Ca. We used to got to the October fest in Huntington Beach/Westminster. Kinda a OC or LA thing.
Listen the demographics of Southern California and the rest of California has changed, it is no longer like it used to be in the old days, the state has turned into Mexico
@@Americafirst-i8q I went to the LA Car show and I took my son, I made the mistake of getting off the freeway right were the 60, 101 and 10 freeway meet, we got something to eat put their might be a off ramp but does not mean there is a on ramp, I had to drive through the town to get back on the freeway, my sons eyes were big as saucer plates. He never seen anything like it. I am sure it is 300% worse now with the homeless and drug addicts there now.
Incredibly sad! I was born and raised in Torrance since 1968, and as a kid, I used to love going there, but it was overrun by the dumps that surround it. The place used to be wonderful, but now what German or true blood American wants to visit there. So sad!
I enjoyed this place. My Oma would buy her special German shoes at the German shoe store and back in the 80’s this place had rides, a BMX track, and an arcade. This the place i would go to as an adult to buy my kids shirts that said, “Make in the USA with German parts!” 😢
This place will hold a special place in my heart. Wonderful childhood memories and as I grew up, buying beers and liquor and specialty foods. The only local place to get true rye bread. My wife and children enjoyed going there. Alpine Village is now gone and so is the great specialty items.
🐓 Dance…..We were Carson high school kids, we used to sneak in on OctoberFest…….fun memories. Will always remember the late 80’s…….Let’s do the Chicken Dance! Carson high ‘83……..
It was slot better times in the 80s That's for sure Many manufacturing jobs American made clothing and goods American made Levi's ,Ray Ban sunglasses,Cameros and Pontiacs were being assembled that the Van Neys General Motors plant Nebisco was making cookies and crackers in Buena Park Yes those were good prosperous times
What happens when sit back on the past as a business owner. Octoberfest paid for some but being next to a CHP headquarters was a DUI trap. Wasted real estate ...... Good while it lasted but never updated to the times. Will be missed which is rare for a property this old and this big in the South Bay.
Oh they probably sold it to some out of the country corporation who’s probably gonna try to build some bigger apartment complex there or something watch and they’ll pay the city of Los Angeles Torrance bunch of money to do it and not worry about the little businesses the little person
When the shopkeeper from Frozen says business is fucked, you better believe him. Yah? Yah-yah. Yah-yah. Yah-yah. I've got so many theories and suspicions.
Wow for many years I used to love going to the Alpine Village since they’re closing them down I wonder if they’re gonna shut down that little swap meet right by it they should we got enough want me to LA get rid of it

So sad. My Dad use to take me there when I was younger 💞

Those new owners should be ashamed. This was such a lovely and historic place.
Jawohl to that sister!
another place gone but not forgotten, thanks for the memories...
Ditto!
My childhood 😢
They couldn't even give them one last Octoberfest. That's messed up.
Miss the swamp meet

So much memories 💔
Last call. Closing time.
Yup one by one little by little snuff out all locations that celebrate European heritage and replace them with taco carts
Everything is going for good 😔
This is beyond disgusting. After 50 years of tenancy, the tenants get 30 days notice to vacate? Utterly immoral
CHINA
I just found out this place was closed. Too bad ! I wonder who will take the big vacant place?
They cannot make them leave that quickly

It was in a bad location anyway. The market at least should have moved to downtown Torrance long ago.
Noooooooo!!!
location sucked. should just move to a better spot.
Santa Monica would have been better.
