I honestly thought that Jomo Kenyatta was Uhuru's grandfather when I first found his name through the airport in Kenya since Jomo was born in the 1890s while Uhuru was born in 1961. I thought that his parents were either unknown or not the ruler of Kenya, but then, I searched who Uhuru's parents are and Jomo is the father. I was surprised that his father is that old. It is the same with my father, who was born in 1940 in North Korea whilst my grandpa was fighting against Japanese imperialism and that he moved to Russia with his father (b. 1897) in 1948 because my grandfather became a politician for the CPSU. I was born in 2001 by the way.
The more I study Jomo Kenyatta, the more I admire his genius. That his foundation has lasted this long is Testament to the leadership ability of the man. His three successesors were his mentees and they held firm.
Thats his Dad. He has a right to celebrate him as much he wants as long he spares the tax payers. The money can be used to build schools and buy cancer detection and treatment equipments.

I do not agree with my president on this one. That decision is a national decision and not a family one. Mzee Jomo Kenyatta is the founding father of our nation. We should protect and be proud of our national heritage.

Anyone who was mature during the activism and rule of Mzee Kenyatta, (1950 - 1978), will remember what an enigma the man was. He was a legend, we were told all sorts of great things the man was reported to be. Some of the things we were told, as gospel truth at the time were both unbelievable and incredible but the gullible folks we were believed them all. After the 1967 six day war between the Arabs and the Israelis, we were told by the know-it-alls at the time that the super powers were on the verge of launching a third world war but after consulting Mzee, they were ordered to hold for a while and not launch it. We were also informed that Mzee could speak every language spoken on earth, we were also informed that Mzee had to approve every President in every country in the world befpre they took Office. The man was revered especially by the generation which waited for him to return from his fifteen years exiled in Europe.
