    I cracked yesterday in my first iron man. Finished in 10:37, after swimming an extra 1km and had to run-walk for the entire marathon. Completely cramping/sore muscles. Managed to squeeze in 120g/h on the bike, but on the run (4laps) i had to visit the toilet 3 times. Couldn't sleep 3 times prior. Instead of sub 10 i was glad i came in under 11h. Awful, awful, awful.
    Anyone finishing a full distance just deserves so much respect. No 70.3 prepares you for the long distance.

      Eek, sounds like it wasn't the best race for you! But congrats on finishing in what is still a fantastic time!
      And yeah, it's such a huge jump that it really shouldn't be underestimated-but it's so easy to!

    Was this the Outlaw in Nottingham? I was sad they cancelled the swim as well, especially with how hot it was that day!
