Seriously a fun car that's kind of a unique alternative to the GTI! Its a shame this one was automatic but it was still a blast to drive.

Lawrence J Not quite. I drive one similar to this one, except mine is a convertible with the most basic trimline. Nothing feminish about the basic one, nor this R-Line trimmed Turbo Beetle. I’m a 38 year old man.

Many people don’t view the beetle as a classic because it’s not a v8 American muscle car. The new model beetles holds the same vehicle mystic as say a mustang or camaro because the manufacture transitioned the body style of the “older classics” to the new versions. The beetle is among the best to do this as the body style has relatively remained the same with the more advanced modern look. That along with the power plant, the best possible engine 2.0t and duel clutch transmission WITH the option of manual versions, makes this car highly optimizable in performance. Nothing “girly” about a big turbo 2.0t gapping whatever pedestrian car you have. Let alone the power to weight ratio of a upgraded and tuned beetle to be able to go door to door with a mustang gt. Don’t think so? View videos of the mk7 gti fbo e85 putting the sauce on v8s. Because the beetle has that same engine. 😎
