Just got a CA-53W, love this watch. Been wearing for a few days, great that they’re so cheap and pretty simple internally. This looks like a good mod, might have to give it a go. I’ve heard some people have had good luck with kapton tape for this application, might give that a try too. Thanks for the tutorial!
Hei Man! Thanks for sharing your experience, you are an inspiration and help to anyone who wants to get a fantastic mod to enhance the look of an iconic watch. A simple method to get the exact measurements of the size of the pollarized filter that will have to be applied internally on the crystal, before cutting is to apply some adhesive paper tape inside the watch case and with a pencil press on the internal sides along the entire perimeter of the crystal or of the area you intend to cover with the filter, in this way you will have the exact dimensions. Take out the adhesive tape marked above and stick the pollarized filter on it. Cut following the lines drawn earlier and you will see that the filter will be the perfect size. I randomly found the channel and signed up 😊👍. But I'm sure they met us on another channel 🤙👍😊. Thanks
Such a simple yet so awesome mod! 👌🏻 I think it will also look nice with a yellow/gold filter. It will also match the “WR” lettering. Thanks a lot man, I’m learning from the best! 💪🏻👊🏻
@@watchncarry9593 Awesome man! I personally cannot get enough of the retro look when it comes to digital watches. Big fan of your channel, thanks for replying!
@@mcpeteymcnustard7777 appreciate the kind words. Yeah, a squareish digital watch is just so fun to wear. If you're open to a different brand, and higher quality materialez recommend you checkout the Seiko WIRED Agam701. I show some pictures of it on my Instagram too: @watchncarry. I think youd like it
If you make a video in which you install a light for the display you get 1kk views and 1kk new subscribers, be sure!😄😄 you’ll show every owner of this watch how to make their ones perfect 🤩
Awesome! Do you think this could be done with the DBC 611 model watch? (the larger version Casio calculator databank watch?) I haven't been able to find anything online about anyone inserting a filter and/or successfully disassembling that model. Would love a tutorial on that!
@@kuchauwe752 i dont own a negative and positive display version of this watch. But all youd have to do is buy one negative display watch and another positive display version. The follow the beginning of thie video to see how to remove the module. Then swap the modules. Then watch the end of this video to see how to reinstall the module.👍
Yes you can. I cover it with the negative display green version of the same watch in these 2 videos: ● th-cam.com/video/-NgPttUfp5s/w-d-xo.html ● th-cam.com/video/eSHzrYLfcy8/w-d-xo.html

Thank you so much for such helpful video!.
What about a back light mod for this watch ?
Don't think that's possible
Looks awesome
I would love to see you do a filter mod and strap swap on the new Casio LF-20w! I think it would look sick!
Yeah, those new ones look so cool. Definitely next on my list👍

I love the negative display!
How hard would it be to drop that 53wf display into a 53w
Easy swap. Essentially the exaxt same parts
@@watchncarry9593 Can u do a video doing it?

First coment. I ❤️ your channel👍👍👍

I just bought this watch again. Had one when I was like 7. It had a lime green screen. Can I send you my new one to do the job?
Nice. And yes, id be happy to get this modded for you.
Please message me on Instagram for more details (@watchncarry). Thanks 👍
That's a really lovely old Seiko 👍

@@David_1982_7 Whoops ! 4am watch postings 😂
I wear this watch, only because I like the style. I'd be happy if only it has backlight so it can be functional too rather than just style
Would it be possible to do this for the negative display variant?
Yes you can. I cover it with the negative display green version of the same watch in these 2 videos:

Muito bom vou fazer no meu relógio!
Hi! Can I know where you bought that Seiko UFO you are wearing in this video?
I purchased it from a private seller on ebay. Model SRPC13J1. Unfortunately it was discontinued a while ago, but sometimes can be found on ebay
good
Can i add color filter to a watch that has negative display? How would it look?
The color on the filter wont show very well since it cant be contrastes by a lighter background. So wouldnt recommend it
Who else came here because they thought a light was added?
Where to buy filter?
Amazon or ebay. Search for Lee filters
Cellophane from the craft store works too 👍
does this mod enable you to see the screen in the dark ?
No, it doesn't. Casio really need to put a backlight on this one
Add light!
Tell Casio that. I agree!
In my opinion the watch should have had lighting from before where one press a button where light come up.
