The realisation on Aamir's face during college scene and background music makes it one of the most powerful scene of Indian cinema.
Remember farhan was barely 24 when he made DCH. Such a wisdom he carried that young working with top class cast and crew.

The movie is ahead of time. When every other director was indulge in romantic masala movies. Farhan akhtar and team went out of the comfort zone representing real youth of the contemporary time. Beautifully portraying group of three friends of different personalities. ( *Akash = Extrovert* , *Siddharth = Introvert* , *Sameer = Ambivert* ). It showed a long journey of fun loving immature friends to taking up responsibility on family pressure and going with the flow.
I believe more movies like this shall be made on the issues with which youth of contemporary time can connect.

5 years after passing out of college,this movie hits on a different level now. Everything mentioned by Akshay Khanna on the top of chapora fort is so fucking true. Everyone is busy and struggling in his/her own life or moving on. Nothing remains the same and you realise how true it is.

This movie is simply unforgettable. I sometimes feel pitty on Akshaye Khanna, honestly speaking he has really been a very fine actor but very underrated.
Bollywood doesn't deserve actors like those.

It just brings tears, in drop of which friendship swims..such a craft this scene! Even after 19 years its as fresh as blossom!

The first hug showcased almost every emotion (years of anger, ego, separation etc.) except the joy and comfort that you get being with your best friend. Those got covered in the second one.

2001 was the year of Aamir Khan in Bollywood with two great masterpiece Lagaan and DCH
And they were released within 2 months apart. From playing a poor rural lad of the 19th century to playing a rich college teen in 21st century, Aamir Khan's acting prowess was peak level.
You can't we find this kind of movies now...did we just passed that era..where we used to actually enjoy every bit !? Memories...
Tat golden era is gone... we Hv to accept it.. but we can still cherish some memories , thnx to TH-cam...😊

I saw this movie as a 9 year old, but it was only at 29 years of age that I felt this scene and this movie.
Undoubtedly one of the best films made in modern times of Bollywood.
I hope movies like Dil Chahta Hai and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara are made frequently. Not stupid masalas and love stories.

Sometimes words... No no.. A whole book fall short to explain what some things means to you and how you feel about it. DCH is one of those. This movie was a revolution that brought in so many people's lives, taught how much friendship, travel, peace, humour and love matters in our lives. I was just 4 years old when this movie was released and since then till now god knows how many times I have watched this movie and ZNMD (2011). We need more films like this. ❤👍💯

Even middle class Mumbai people were vacationing in Goa since the 80s
Infact karan johars movie were stuck in the 90s, this movie however was released at the right time.

This movie for sure was way ahead of its times and Im sure so many of us growing from our teens entering the twenties could relate to one of these characters and/or having friends in our groups. Im lucky to have known one of the Subodhs for real, who goes swimming 🏊♂️every weekends and spends the public holidays at his uncle's farm house 🏠

This movie is masterpiece and the scene where amir sees their collage days is just another level , u wont realise when u r in college this realisation hits when u always go to work and in tension, and how friends are really important in life for happiness.
