He's always the one trying to keep everyone together, he's the one with the big smile when those "The Gang's all here now, at the turning of the tides" scenes happen. He was the one who tried to befriend a Demogorgon, and was the one who told Mr. Munson his nephew was a hero. In some of the poster art it shows everyone walking towards Vecna's lair in their separate groups, Dustin's group has everyone else with him distracted by something and he's just face forward walking confidently focused on his duty to his team and the world. Dustin is the heart of the Party, Mike is the heart of Eleven.

tbh steve would make a hell of a cool gym teacher, or councilor. hes got a knack for connecting with the "weird" kids and we know he doesnt like bullies. if he could get over the whole "single babysitter" mindset, hed be perfect for it

Popular TV sitcom in the 80's, "Growing Pains" had a teenage boy that was like that. He was first the popular cool kid, but then as he was growing up he realized he had a knack for teaching and it's what he majored when he went to college and ended up being a teacher for his highschool.
