I love the DisneyKittee facebook group, but I also love the oHelloRobin Disney pins and more facebook group! They have specific days (usually 4-5 days every month) for pin trading, and then the rest of the time people post their collections, DIYs, and information about pin releases and restocks. It’s super fun, so I would recommend both of them!

I've been off Facebook since 2015 and as MUCH as I would love to be part of a legit pin trading community, I just don't think there is going to be A N Y part of me that can be convinced to get back on the platform! Maybe some day I'll have enough LEs that it'll be worth doing through Instagram! But much love and thanks for the video :) It was helpful how you SHOWED what was off about the "waffle" backing. People always say 'that's how you can tell it's fake,' but as I hold mine out it's hard to tell if it's off, pointing out how to look on the corners and the "sharps" of the points helped! Thank you!! :)
I did have a cast member turn down a trade with me once. She was like well just get the one on the board over there. the one on her lanyard was real and she forced me to take the scraper.
I will also add if you do have scrappers or fake pins they have groups for that! I keep my real pins from my fake pins. So if you do have fake pins some people will trade them. 🙂
The Leffersons The reason I didn’t contact an admin is because I feel like I’m tattle tailing on people and I figured these that I traded with didn’t know that they were scrappers. Plus I have a hard time distinguishing real pins from fake pins Sometimes, but these looked questionable so I separated them from my main collection of authentic pins and just used them as decorative pieces in my crafts.
I have some fake pins as well that I use as decoration or for crafts! That's a great way to use them! Always ask for pics of the front and backs, then hopefully you won't have that issue again. 🤞

I just started collecting pin a few months ago. Haven't traded yet. I also know I got some fake pins because I bought of those cheap pins off eBay. When I got them I didn't know about fake pins but I just wanted anything Princess Tiana. Now I have a few doubles can see they are slightly different but don't know which one is real or if both are fake!😂 I don't care cause I won't trade them. I just want to know for myself.
If you would like us to take a look, feel free to send pics of both of the pins to our Instagram and I can try to tell based on that which one is real! Sometimes it is really hard to tell, but if one just looks or "feels" fake, it probably is!
Alyssa thank you! We ran into a weird thing recently - bought some food pins through Disney website and they are each with waffling that doesn’t go to the edge! Almost like it was done on purpose. Have you seen this? I know they are authentic so I was surprised to see them like that! Would you like to see a picture?
I have seen it.. unfortunately that is why it is so hard to tell the difference between real vs fake these days. If you buy through shopdisney, you are definitely getting authentic pins. There are other ways to tell if a pin is fake such as paint coloring could be off, pin feels lighter and quality is overall not great. I would like to get some fakes and reals of specific pins to show you the difference a little bit better. I think Disney is just being lazy with their quality of pin sometimes!
You mentioned PinPics in your video but did not mention PinPics as a place to trade, why not? Also, you did not mention Cast award pins to trade which also do not have the waffling on the back. Everyone should keep in mind that the backing with the official Disney Pin Trading logo did not start until the late 1990's but Disney pins have been around way before then, I have been collecting for over 30 years.
I did not mention pinpics to trade because I simply do not use it for trading. I find it harder to navigate honestly. I did include pinpics in the description so people can use their own judgement and do what they would like. I also did mention that older pins would not have the waffling on the back. As I said, I could do a whole video on just determining if a pin is real vs fake. This video was to help people get started with pin trading who do not know how to trade online. I tried to make it as basic and simple as possible for our subscribers. 🙂

You can most definitely do that! Most of the people who have their pins up for trade will also be willing to sell. You will just have to PM them and ask for the cost, as they are not allowed to post the prices on the page. 🙂
