I am wondering about that "hollyyyy....." at the 3.45 mark. Was that loosing the front a bit and made the corner the best possible, or thats your prefered way to make the right turn from that line from the inside?
Dude, in my first ever enduro race, the final stage was freshcut just like that and it was on the ridge of a grassy hill and super wet. Of course it wasnt as difficult as this, but I was very caught off guard lol
Jesse, if you don’t mind me asking, What makes this stage one of the “best” Heard same comments from other racers, I see jank and off camber corners galore, dirt looks nice………cheers
I can't answer for him but I like stages/trails like these because they are challenging/interesting and not just smooth berms with a few rocks and roots sprinkled in between. I'd imagine its something similar.
Like the others said, it was just a nice change from riding bike park as fast as you can. It was taped wide and had a lot of lines where you could really get creative. At the time it was frustrating, but with good dirt and the ambiance it was a fun practice looking back.
Or just not a proper track. Enduro is meant to be representative of the MTB sport. No self-respecting trail association would ever build a trail that looked like that sh!te.
@@JesseMelamedMTB They have their work cut out for them then, because the way it looks right now will cause a lot of soil erosion, and probably lose a few trees which will only make it worse if they don't fix it soon.
That is an awful lot of off-camber trail. Please tell me this was a purpose built trail to torture the riders, because if it is indicative of the trail building in the area - it does not look inviting to visit. If I was the local event organizer, I would pay Discovery not to broadcast footage of that trail 😅 Congrats on the race results!
@@JesseMelamedMTB Bottom half of the forest will be cut down soon so sadly this trail will be dead. I've built 20 more trails around this area so if you are ever back here and want to ride the good stuff just let me know.
When I built this trail (called "Inbloom") in 2018 I had no idea it would one day be used for a UCI EDR stage! So glad the racers enjoyed it.
Thanks for it! Good route finding, that top section is so good
You nailed the race bro! You did all you could! Massive respect!🤘
Happy with it!
to see you fight and struggle is something rare, Jesse!
that left turn off camber is tripping up everyone! Looks treacherous - hope you got it nailed in race run. Thanks again for posting!
Got it just about as good as my third try in this video
@@JesseMelamedMTB good enough.... 👍🏼havent watched any race day stuff yet...... shhhh dont tell me....
What a track, what a race ! So happy for your result !!
The slick roots are so tricky to ride and you make it look like light work haha
Thank you!
Thank you Jesse, Great stuff as always!
Thanks!
Those off cambers and roots look nuts!
Almost impossible haha

So many places hunt on you 😮.
More video Jesse🔥🔥

Always hard to find the balance of pushing too hard
Hi, how come you run a shorty on the rear and not a DHRII? Thanks
Because it’s such fresh dirt that I wanted to dig the tire in. And it was a little slippery
@@JesseMelamedMTB is this something you normally do? Shorty on the rear before it goes on the front?
@@gt4joe yes. The assegai has good grip in intermediate conditions but I need the extra grip on the rear where all the weight pushes into.
I have a shorty on the rear of my hard tail and it grips up so good in the dust.
Hope you will upload the race mode as well.
I’ll try.

You know the track is difficult when even pros are struggling.
So hard. No support anywhere

@@fillfreakin2245 agreed. But these trails get adopted into the association and worked on and become some of the best trails around.

Ysss
Not a single berm in this one hah
They started building catch berms at the top and then stopped haha
@@JesseMelamedMTB The original track only has 3 berms. We added the top one and made 10% of the track easier because the UCI claimed it was too hard.
@@lastgentleman8099 nah it’s all good! A bit of work now and it’ll be a sick track for a good time
