Quest For Metal Definitely considered that or Blood Fire Death. Maybe part 2.

The albums that got me into the BM were...
At the Heart of Winter - Immortal
    Filosofem - Burzum
De Mysteries Dom Satanas - Mayhem
    The Mantle - Agalloch
    The Return... - Bathorhy
In The Nightside Eclipse - Emperor
A Blaze in the Northern Sky - Darkthrone
I know they're the most famous and popular albums in the genre but if it wasn't for them then I wouldn't be listening to BM at all.

Emperors In the nightside eclipse is a true masterpiece.

The albums that got me into black metal proper were:
    Lawless Darkness by Watain
Storm of the Light's Bane by Dissection
    Sanctus Diavolus by Rotting Christ
In the Nightside Eclipse by Emperor
A Blaze in the Northern Sky by Darkthrone
In the Heart of Winter by Immortal
Before that I was casually into Behemoth, Mayhem, Cradle of Filth, Bathory and Tom G. Warrior's bands: Hellhammer, Celtic Frost and Triptykon

the album that got me into black metal was The Satanist,I know it's blackened death but it got my interest to search for more and I eventually got into the old ones like Burzum,Satyricon and etc

Nice video! I really agree with the Emperor album you picked and the Dimmu Borgir. For me, Sons of Northern Darkness was the Immortal I got into first and it was early in my black metal listening. Other things that come to mind would be Wolves in the Throne Room - Celestial Lineage or Primordial Arcana, Agalloch - anything from The Mantle and forward, newer Enslaved stuff, some Drudkh, Behemoth - The Satanist, Satyricon black n' roll albums are quite listenable.

@@MetalTrenches Hell yes! I love Hordanes Land, Frost, Eld, Mardraum, Monumension, Isa, Ruun, Vertebrae, Axioma.., Riitiir, In Times, E, and Utgard. Never heard Below the Lights, kind of been saving that one for a rainy day for whatever reason, haha. Ruun was the first one I ever heard I think. For rookies I would recommend anything from Isa or Ruun and forward. I find Yggdrasill, Vikingligr Veldi, and Blodhemn to be pretty good. Favorite is In Times.

Black Metal went from something I just didn't understand to probably my favourite subgenre throughout these last years. Back then, kinda got more into contemporary stuff before the "unsocial" classics. Still, totaly recommend somebody to start with these early highlights of mine:
    1. (1999) "Stronghold" by Summoning.
    2. (2016) "Rituals" by Rotting Christ.
    3. (2007) "To The Nameless Dead" by Primordial.
    4. (2016) "III: Trauma" by Harakiri For The Sky.
    5. (2016) "The Whole Of Law" by Anaal Nathrakh (I have no clue how I got into this record right when beginning to get into BM. Extremely Heavy and relenteless.)

I’d recommend The Mantle by Agalloch. It got me interested in black metal. Absolute masterpiece.
Filosofem is what made me realize I loved black metal, oddly enough. The level of distortion and fuzz it has kind of has a reverse effect where it sounds more accessible to me than bands like Darkthrone or Mayhem. It’s also just a beautiful album.

imo if i wanted to introduce someone to black metal i would first show them speed/thrash bands like bewitched, hellripper, midnight and even venom then more modern black metal like abbath's band, watain, Alcest, diabolical masquerade (great symphonic black metal band from sweden) and evnetually stuff like bathory's blood fire death (the album that instantly clicked for me) , dissection storm of the light's bane, immortal at the heart of winter and for the more mom's basement production stuff : burzum filosofem, darkthrone transilvanian hunger and emperor's first 2 albums

Hell yeah! How about some Blasphemy, Beherit, Profanatica, and Black Witchery? I've never heard Behexen, need to check them out. I forgot to mention Cradle in my list I just posted, I got into symphonic of all black first with older Cradle, Dimmu, and Emperor, listening to those bands around 2000 and one Immortal Album, Sons of Northern Darkness, those things alone were the only "black metal" I heard for years. Behemoth too but they were pretty much going heavy on the death metal.

I like black metal, but i can only listen to a few songz before i get sick of it.
Ive listened to only 3 black metal albums
Filosofem (obviously),loved it and the atmosphere it built, listen to it pretty routinely.
Blaze in the Northern Sky, i enjoyed this too and was so surprised by how "rock n roll"it sounded with the riffs, less atmospheric. Havent really listenned to it again since.
Then the last one is The Ten Sublevels of Suicide by Leviathan. It is super fucking heavy and atmospheric and all by one guy? Totally insane, have only listened to it a couple times though cus its so long and its very intense.
Ive always been put off by Dimmu Borgir because if the whole like theatrical sound they have, sounds way to cheesy and like over the top to me or something.
Ill check our some Gorgoroth though, always have heard they're (he?) meant to be classic.
Pretty recent subscriber, great video as always, keep it up ;)

In may 2008 I’ve heard heavy metal for the first time in my life and started listening to it.
In autumn 2008 I just downloaded Burzum albums and I liked it (and strongly disliked Varg’s personality) I’m not a huge fan of black metal and never was but I don’t understand why get into it is so difficult for many people.
But I think Emperor “In the nightside of Eclipse” is a great choice for first black metal album. It’s much more understandable than Burzum.
Maybe I just liked “Hvis lyset tar oss” from the first time so much because I was very angry and had depression at that time 😹

My first contact with Black Metal was at high school, I just saw a post of a girl I liked, and she posted a Gorgoroth song, I actually loved it at first sight, but since I am Christian (and as a teenager I didn't understand that what you listen to doesn't define your beliefs) I kinda try to avoid anything related to Black Metal...
And then came Antestor - The Forsaken... (now a days I realize it kinda followed Dissection's Melodic Black Metal style)
A Christian Black Metal album? I loved it!
It's a wonderful album that I still love today, after hundreds of listens...
For years I was unaware of Black Metal scene in general (I only listened to Christian bands... Yep) but one day I just realized God doesn't really care about what I listen to, but about what I do to other human beings and how I treat people🤷🏻‍♂️...
Then I started listening to Mgla and Teitanblood and hundreds of Black Metal bands, I'm happy with my musical taste c:
I'm pretty sure that if you want to get into Black Metal and you don't know where to start, Melodic Black Metal and Atmospheric Black Metal are the predilect gateway genres to get into it.
