For the bus routes instead of circular loops, a good idea would be to identify key buildings and start a root from one significant building/place to another and cover few stops in between For example, going to University from the farm side. Then going to high school from railway station, etc. This can make it more well intended then just barely loops.
You can also make a radial system, just like Riga has, i.e. all lines pass through the Central Interchange Point, just like M4J had when playing Cities in Motion 2.
Might be because of vicinity to the industrial area, that’s why no residential buildings are setting up in that area. Also, I think it’d be better if you have a different colour to all the transport lines, it’ll be easier to identify.
It works fine when you have a couple of tram and bus routes but when you grow up to ten routes for each in a large city with 200k population, managing transport becomes a pain in the ass. Your bus and tram stops can be disconnected or messed up with each other and when you try to fix it, it creates some weird round routes. If you have several routes on one road you can't choose one to edit.
It'd help your buses to have the access road to the bus station have an exit the other direction. Also you can run buses to the edge of the map. I think it would also help to colour the lines so you know which one is which.
When they don't want to build you can just select a small part 4 by 4 or 5 by 5 dots and they'll start building. Don't fill up the whole rectangle. Or cut it with pedestrian roads.
To fix traffic increase roadside parking to maximum and ban combustion cars. It will drive interest in public Trasport will also increase revenues. You can do all of these in district menu
Here's a little bit of advice from the Torontonian here in the comment section just to give you a little bit of a helpful advice The TTC / Metrolink has combined bus stops where people can transfer between the streetcars or trams to the buses which are really useful. I think in city skylines 2 You can also do that overlap. The tram stops with bus stops. That way you can create a transfer spot. See if that works in your next episode
You can check the Bus Depot to see how many buses you can use (you were trying to look at the station instead). Also, changing the line colors might help you, since it changes both the line color on the map and the actual buses in-game to match whichever color you choose. As far as traffic goes, I don't think it has to do with people moving in... Imagine living in downtown NY (high density sky-scrapers all over the place), and only having these narrow roads. Especially when some of them also include the tram/bus stations that slow traffic down even more, I think it's no wonder you're gonna see some traffic issues. I think widening the roads to 6 or even 8 lanes in some areas (even if it means losing and rebuilding some buildings), and/or de-zoning a bit of space in between the taller buildings to add more road connections, might help. Another thing you might want to look into, is increasing the walkability of your city. Creating simple paths/pedestrian bridges where needed (while also removing some of the cross-walks), might help cut out a lot of the traffic, especially downtown. Also, another connection into downtown might help as well, to split some of the traffic flow going in/out of the area overall. Hope this helps! Loving the series so far btw, keep up the great work (:
Absolutely! As the game progresses, zebra crossings should be removed and more and more elevated walk ways should be added, probably on each four cross roads.
Parking lots create hudge trafic jams because the cars try to enter them from both ways. Cars entering with cross traffic turns make massive backlog. The only way to make parking works is 1 way roads or bulevards that have barrier between the 2 sides. The barrier is important because the game simulates idiots who make U trun in the middle of 6 lane dual carrage way. This is the reason why you should never use 2way highway - always seperate.
Hey there! I just wanted to give you a heads-up that the office zone hasn't been constructed yet in the Sunnyside Dale zone. 😕 Could you please look into this? Great videos!!
If you build mini roundabout trffic will go slowly through Build larger ones bcs it will delete same amount of buildings and provide better traffic flow
Hi seniac love your vids I suggest you make a air port if possible in city sky lines one you could so idk I don’t have city sky lines 2 and 3 comment good enough
Seniac the muppet hahaha its a bus depot that provides buses, not bus station.....also think about it logically...to service the most passengers transport lines should have vehicles going into both directions rather than in the loops....that way people dont have to drive the entire route to get to their destination....
do you notice the roads becoming red when picking to zone low density, that means they don't wanna build it there.
The redda the betta

Maybe around tallbuilding you need to widen the road and band street parking

Do you remember Snowtown? The public transport looked like that one from previous Cities Skylines season.

The Bus Depot provides the Buses not the Bus Station

Who else was waiting to see when Seniac was going to realise that he moved a bus station and not a bus depot?
metro might help with the congesting on the roads
Or zone smaller buildings or use bigger roads for max size high density zoning.
Lots of upgrades ❤️bling bling 🤣
