My 450D shouldn't worry. As I'm not planning to migrate my custom watercooling that I've just build in earlier this year. If this product was launched earlier I would've definitely upgraded to the 4000D Airflow. Wow!
@@DannyMidi I hava a H115i Capellix AIO at the top. This only just squeezes in between the VRM heatsink and the front port header bracket so a H100i would be a better idea if you are going to have it at the top as that would suit most motherboards. I have two 140 mm fans at front. Three 120s can fit.
I have been a long time customer of Corsair. My first corsair case was the 750D. I have since retired that case to be my Unraid server (I LOVE HAVING SO MANY DRIVE CAGES) and I have a 450D as my daily driver. However, the 450D is lacking a TON of what modern cases have. I am not loyal to Corsair, I am loyal to vendors who make good products and this is exactly what this looks like. A good product. I no longer have the need for HDD drive cages or disc readers which have since migrated to my Unraid server and onto a VM. In my daily driver, I have my OS on an NVMe drive and I have high capacity SSD for files I absolutely need locally and not on the network. The USB 3.1 and USB C, along with no drive cages, no 5 1/4" bays, BETTER cable routing, psu shroud, and the flexibility of SSD mounting (anyone who built in a 750D or a 450D know how...challenging SSD's can be if you want them mounted properly. Those weird clip-in things just don't make the cut. I am very interested to see Gamers Nexus do an airflow test. The trapezoidal design looks way better than "let's have the fans pull air from the sides"...not the front of these modern cases to let's extend the front panel an absurd amount of cm because of yeah, fans work best when pulling air from the front, not the sides.
Here are my predictions (bear in mind I'm also comparing it to the 500D): The good things: - The cable management I can say has the potential to be better. Steve will probably give a more definitive POV. - The two HDD drive cages on the bottom is a better way to hold the HDDs than on the side, for space saving and cable management in comparison to the current configuration for the 500D - The style is in my personal opinion and taste a little more of what I'm kind of looking for in a case. (this is my personal preference not my prediction of GN) The bad or debatable things: - The Side mounted GPU thing they include supports PCIe 3.0 (Kind of an odd one given all their cases should be made for the future) however, it looks like it MIGHT have enough airflow to be productive but I'm not sure... - The airflow version should be entirely mesh and not the triangular vented intake. (Honestly I think they're far away enough it shouldn't be that much of an issue) - The top I/O is much more limiting than it has any reason being (500D has one more USB port mic and a headphone jack instead of a combo also it doesn't specify if it's 3.1 Gen 1 or Gen 2) Looking at their website tells you the USB A-Port is 3.0 and the type C-Port 3.1 - The flat power and reset buttons sit completely flush so end users are more likely to accidentally shut off the system - Only includes two Solid State Drive, drive bays by default, technically this means you can store up to four instead of the three you can in the 500D which is nice but they really should include the other drive bays.
