If you haven't yet already, you guys should consider updating the Launch Control XL, Launch Control, Launch Pad Mini, and Launch Key Mini to the new slim and (dare I say) "sexy" new look of the Launch Pad MKII and Launch Pad Pro! Also adding true RBG LEDs and making their FirmWare Open Source (like you did with the Launch Pad Pro)! I know I, and many others, wouldn't mind spending a little more money for the features! Was hoping for this at Summer NAMM - but maybe soon? Thanks!
if I download a project file for a song made for the launchpad s (like something from sonevable) will the samples be on the same pads on the mk2? Pls respond it's my deciding factor about ic I wait for the mk2 or just buy the s
Great info, being a new user I learned a few things, using the drum rack and adding different drum kits to the individual pads, not sure I fully understand what it does, does just the one pad change or do other change as well?

Launchpad is primarily a controller for Ableton Live and you can certainly create more than just loops using Ableton Live. Launchpad provides tactile, intuitive control over many of the software's parameters including the Clips and Scenes within Ableton Live's Session View. Session view provides an alternative to the traditional, fixed timeline method that is provided in Arrangement View, giving you access to your palette of musical elements that you can trigger independently using Launchpad. You can record a composition in Session View using the Clips and Scenes and switch to Arrangement View at any point to access your set to further develop it into the final product. I've been able to use my Launchkey pads in Studio One. Never tried my launchpad though. I know that there IS a way to have Studio One use Live and instruments going into Live.
It's weird, when I plugged my Launchpad Mk 2 in, the "up, down, left, right" button light up, but the "session button" and the "user 1" button didn't. Anybody know why?? Also the drum rack is EVERYWHERE, it's not correlate right. For example, my C-1 pad suppose to be in the very bottom left corner on my LP, but it showed up in different pad on my launchpad...
Ender jack you get a "light" version, it denies you to create your own drum rack and thus takes away a lot of its usefulness. And some more disadvantages... So in the end, to use your Launchpad properly, you need the full version.
Sorry to hear that you're having problems. The 'Samples' category can be used to access the raw audio samples used in any Ableton instruments and packs that you may have installed. As you have Ableton Live Lite, you may not have installed elements that contain samples, but you can import your own sample content into the browser by using the 'Add Folder' option from 'Places' - at the bottom of the list. Have you downloaded the included Loopmasters samples from your Novation account yet? You can use, 'Add Folder' to import these samples into your Ableton Live project. just bought the Launchpad pro very disappointed about the velocity curves more like a korg pad control with rbg just returned it and got my money bad very satified
You know, for a video targeted at beginners, this stinks. Why start out making a folder for LoopMaster samples. I don't know if I have them, where they are, etc. Are they free with Live Lite? There has been no mention of them in the docs I've seen. I think this is an awesome instrument, but feel really abandoned as to basic information. For example - the demo set is really cool, but I don't know how to stop it! On the computer I can click on the stop, but the Launchpad still looks like it is going.
Sorry if you found this confusing, Mark. Launchpad comes bundled with 4GB of loops and samples from Loopmasters, so that you can begin creating music straight away. You don't have to use them but in this video we use them to demonstrate how to create a basic beat using Launchpad and Ableton Live. When you register your Launchpad using the included Bundle Code, your Loopmasters content can be accessed from your Novation account, along with your Ableton Live activation code and additional software. How do you which buttons to press when you are using the pad instrument? Is there a way to light them up? Are they just set there by the instrument?

PUDIN SHNAPS They most likely will be on the same pads. The pads always control the same notes/samples.
