  • This video presentation is part of the Streets of the Americas which is going to be North Southport Avenue in north side Chicago. Though very short street, it is fairly descriptive commercial corridor. Lined up with bars restaurants mom and pop business along with residential components aligned the summer here can be quite spectacular. Though it doesn't quite get the notoriety like Clark Street I think it has it's own charm which is unmatched.
The street is 1400 west in the Chicago grid system. It is very short street which is about 2.6 miles in length which starts from Kingsbury Avenue in Lincoln Park by the banks of Chicago River North Branch and terminates at the confluence of Clark Street and Bertaue Avenue a little bit north of Irving Park Road in Chicago's north side.
The footage was filmed long before the Covid 19 effect took place so some of the street activities that is occurring doesn't accurately depict the current situation. So this video is for entertainment purpose only. The total distance covered today is 2.6 miles and time taken was about 14 minutes.
    Enjoy and everyone stay safe.
I will be uploading videos quite frequently documenting the impact of corona virus around Chicagoland area during the Covid 19 Pandemic outside of my channel's scheduled weekly uploads. Please take time to watch how this has really affected our lives during this crisis. And everyone out there please stay safe.

Southport Ave. goes north-south from Clark Street / Berteau Ave. to Kingsbury Ave.

Yeah, I'm starting to get these Chicago names figured out. Grace Ave. was named after Elvis Presley's mom. Elston Ave. was named after the Cubs relief pitcher of the 1960s. Diversey Ave. was called "Diversey" because they didn't know how to spell "Diversity" yet. Chicago Ave. was name after artist Judy Chicago, or maybe the band. Laramie Ave. was called "Laramie" because it was so far west, people thought they were in Wyoming already. All of the downtown streets are named after presidents. President Van Buren, President Adams, President Monroe, President Madison, President Washington, President Randolph, President Lake and President Wacker.
If I missed anything, someone tell me.
