Till date my favourite place. Unlike other places where as an outsider I am felt not included, over there people are very friendly, inclusive and know how to appreciate culture. Love the way how they value and understand the concept of sustainable living by taking life a bit slow and enjoying every bit of it.

I love ❤️ old Calcutta, where there was no sky rise buildings, less population and not congested roads..our forefathers were quite lucky to stay in old Kolkata.

Lovely coverage. Great pics. Calcutta, east of Suez Canal was the greatest city during Bitish era. It enjoyed better status 150 years ago than Singapore, Hong Kong, Seoul, Beijing, Shangai, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Sydney, Melbourne or Perth. Forget its status today in India itself. It speaks of administrative capability of Bengalis. They deserve only village living.

No matter how much we hate british rule...but one thing we need to appreciate that the cities they build were really commendable and well planned...just look at those roads and footpaths...But nowadays, leave that road even we don't have as much space as that footpath shown in video😂In our area , one bridge is there built in british era...and just beside that is the new bridge, you won't believe the new bridge(almost 10 years old) has been through more rennovations than the old bridge...Even I hardly recall any new work done on that old bridge and it's operational😅

Those who are glorifying the British here, remeber the images you seen are of British India where these shining things where only for the white people and not Indians. For normal Indians the situation was worse. People dying without food outside city parameters etc. Current city maybe ugly but i can go to any place i want without any fears.

I wish the government and the people to reserve the heritage. Barobazar Bowbazar Shayambazar are full of rich heritage location, there are many migrants living in those areas, these migrants are destroying the heritage sites. The locals and government should take action against the activities.
