    Dana is a holding company named for Charles Dana. He was an employee of Spicer axle and driveline. He took the company over in the 1920's Spicer is still the company making the axles. Back in the day these axles were always referred to as Spicer and not Dana. A Power-Lok axle was marked with a dab of yellow paint on the top of the pinion snout. OK besides getting that off my chest I want to say how much I enjoy your videos and admire your work. I should have never sold my '63 Dodge 426 Stage 2 Ramcharger.....11.41 with 7" tires.

    One of my top dream cars on earth is a black 68 charger with red interior, or black on black! For the street, the 440 is arguably better than the hemi... but yeah, a hemi would be my choice

    How is it going on the black rt

  • @lovethesmellofracefuelinth7374
    @lovethesmellofracefuelinth7374 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yeah that is the best color for them. In the late 90s, I bought a 68 RT with built 440 and an added six pk, and paid 4500. It was rust free and the body was good, but needed paint and ran excellent. It was also a 4 speed car and was wicked quick. I only raced it on the street one time, and got beat by an auto 396 69 Camaro, but the only reason was that the RT had a long throw and totally missed 3rd gear. But I smoked him out of the hole and was several car lengths ahead when it happened, and was so pissed off at myself. He knew that it would have ripped his 396 if I hadn't done that, and is why I don't like long throws to this day lol

  • @DementedMutt
    @DementedMutt 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Man, I've been wanting a 68,69,70 charger forever, I found one, a 69 with a running 440 built into a 460, but it's not an rt there is nothing special about this car it's not rare, it didn't come with a scarce option package or anything. From the back of the rear wheel wells to the tail panel is the only rust I can find on the car , all the trim is there all the glass is there , the interior is all there and complete no tears or anything and the floor pans are solid. The guy is asking $25K for with no paint and the back half of the car rusted out , do you think that's a fair price, to be honest, I don't know what they are worth. If you were buying this car and I know its difficult without seeing the car about how should one pay for the car?

  • @mynameis9057
    @mynameis9057 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    funny how they made convertible GTXs but not Chargers. the twice pipes you want to put on that other Charger reminds me of a 68 Coronet 500 a buddy had back in the 80s with them,the car was all in that Georgia clay colored primer with a frikkin 318 2bbl in it,lmao! riding in the thing I kept on goofing on Cheech & Chong and the Santa Claus song talking about his sled with the twice pipes all chopped and chort man,Santa Cleeze,the dude with the boney knees,lol ! what's even funnier was Carlos the cars owner was Mexican too, so we goofed on it all the time and always cracked us up! good times,back when those beasts were only $50.00 to $100.00! not $50,000.00 to $100,000.00+ like now. crazy man crazy. ▪☆☆☆▪

    I love muscle cars as much but i will never understand how crazy everybody gets about a car that has nothing oiginal to it except a vin and thinks its better than a car that didnt come with the same options originally. Once the parts are gone there gone it doesn't matter if you use parts from that era there not #'s matching. Era correct adds no more value than custom or what ever else

    do you mind if I start calling you charger dave, as you just keep finding all of these old girls, hell pretty soon your gonna find one with the overblown and overloved 426 in it! I say that as the 440 is just cooler to have, and also probably less weight over the front, and runs alot better for the purpose the thing was built for. as 426's are a cuda thing, that's where they belong, not in chargers.
    now a charger with a Fireball hemi in it, one of the original hemi's that's like that in small block size however, now that would work well in such a big car like this, as they used to hall around 5000 pound luxury cars and desotos from the fifities like no bodies business.
    and I always thought THAT was the ultimate hemi, all the torque and power, with none of the weight issues that come with the elephant drag racing motor that everyone loves and aspires to own. or even like the inline 6 one they had in aulstralia, a 265 inline 6 hemi on the chrystler valiant charger. like imagine that in a sports car instead of a jag inline 6 in like an E type or something
