  • Paul Bunyan Show 2023 didn't disappoint as we got our first look at the super impressive Easonmade 40C firewood processor! In my opinion this machine will be king of the hill at this price point. With a circular saw, full automation, a fuel efficient Yanmar 35hp diesel engine, and full live deck we were left impressed at every turn! Not to mention the customization of a 24ton 3 second cycle time splitter or a 37 ton machine with a 16 way bundle wood wedge as options! All of this at right around $100,000, what's not to love! Thank you to Andrew and the crew ‪@EastonmadeWoodSplitters‬ for the first hand demonstration of this unit!

    Hi Heath and Rachel. I purchased 2 12 cord loads of ash. I kept close track of everything. I found we had around a 15 % loss from log cord to split cord. I am at the mercy of the logging truck to bring a true 12 loggers cord. So we ended up with a 4 cord loss or roughly 20 full cord of split wood. I think you will end up with about 50 face cords including scraps and cookies. Keep close track and let us know. I’ve heard of low of 10 and high of 30 percent loss. A lot depends on the honesty of the logger. See you guys next weekend. I’m looking forward to HFH.

    So, as he is saying both hands on the trigger, or it will stop, and you cant put your hand in while its operating, the guy LITERALLY takes his hands off to adjust the log in the loading area, and the saw IS STILL rotating. LoL

    • @hardworkingmanoutdoors
      @hardworkingmanoutdoors  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The saw is rotating but will not come down and splitter will not advance. For the saw blade to stop spinning would be completely uneconomical. Pretty’s sure you can’t reach the saw blade from there.

  • @jakebredthauer5100
    @jakebredthauer5100 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Looks like a machine for someone who wants to spend a lot of time making firewood. A machine like that is made to be used a lot. That is the only way to get good value from it. I don't have the statistics to prove it. I am only speculating. Obviously it is a medium-sized professional-grade firewood processor. I would be curious to know what the millimeter size is.
    I don't remember seeing a 6-way wedge like that before. It is like an eight way on top and like a four-way on the bottom. Perhaps that is so it can be raised and used as a two-way, or lowered and used as a four-way, or in the middle as a six-way. Am I right?
    When the value of the dollar drops by 50% the value of the machine will go up 100%. The more the dollar drops, the more the machine is worth. After a machine is used it is normally has less value than a new machine.
    I can see how the feed trough is slanted to the backside to help with log alignment. I figured they put a belt infeed so the belt could slip and nothing would get hurt. I am not sure.
    You already have a circular saw so you know they are better than the bar saws. I would rate the Ultra and 40c as their two best creations. Eastonmade is an innovative firm.

    • @hardworkingmanoutdoors
      @hardworkingmanoutdoors  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Very good points, it is definitely a professional grade machine. As far as the wedge design and circular saw dimensions I don’t want to give out bad information so I’ll let @Eastonmadewoodsplitters or someone else from Eastonmade answer. You also make a good point with inflation etc. the only time I’ve seen used machines sell for more than new are when supply runs out or wait times are too long. A lot of us like the instant gratification once we commit to spending a large sum of $$. I sort of look at my equipment as to what it owes me. So if I buy something for $10,000 and say produce a product and sell it for $7,000 I look at the machine owing me $3k. So in my mind if I could sell it for $8,000 after I used it I’d be $5,000 ahead. If that all makes sense. Once a machines cost is recouped it’s all bonus $$ from then on. Obviously there’s operation costs, etc. but the one thing you can never get more of is time!

      It would help the reader if you used paragraphs the way I did.
      Andrew described the blade in a video he made. It is 40 inches in diameter and a thinner style to reduce horsepower requirement. If the hub is 4 inches I suppose The cutting capacity would be 18 inches.
      The machine rating would be the log diameter rating which would be given in inches that could be converted to millimeters. Now that I think of it, splitters don't have log diameter ratings. You are starting to learn more about processors..
      You have a community of TH-camrs and manufacturers with an interest in firewood production. How would you describe these people?
      They are in a similar social and racial class. The education level would be about high school. Their parents or grandparents were rural, armed, Christian racists. After all, the name of one channel is Back 40. I have the same ancestral background.
      One section of land is one mile by one mile which is 640 acres. A quarter section is 1/2 mile by 1/2 mile and is 160 acres. One-quarter of one quarter is 40 acres.
      You-all are living on the fumes of the culture you came from. We are living in chaotic, uncertain and distressing times. The revolutionaries are thrilled with the prospect of victory. Civilization is about to be annihilated or reborn.
      Firewood is probably a good investment for energy security. If you keep it inside, it will give you protection easily for 20 years or more. That is if you do not get evicted.
      P.S. Return to your roots and be a counter-revolutionary. See the Wranglerstar short. He does not want his children fighting in any Middle East war.
