  • In today’s project, we’re making campfire wood on a Timberwolf Pro HD XL Firewood Processor. We’ll set it up. Do a full walk around. Load Maple and Poplar logs with a Kioti NX5510 tractor. Process the the logs into firewood. Convey the firewood into a pile with a Split Force 13/20T. Dry, season, and store the wood on pallets. And fold it all up to be towed to the next project.

    No good, the operator has to intervene every single cut.

      Don't sell a whole lot of it, other than in our campfire mix. We do use quite a bit in our own wood stove to heat the shop in the winter. Appreciate you watching!

    is there a pump for the bar oil? Or how does it reach the bar?

    • @FoxfireProjects
      @FoxfireProjects  ปีที่แล้ว

      Correct, it has its own pump. Keeps everything well lubed. Appreciate you watching!

    I was beginning to wonder if it had a splitting wedge on it. 🤣 Nice machine!!

      Thanks so much for the kind words and inspiration. Great accomplishment for me having you comment, as I followed your channel before I started mine! Hope to make it to the north country later this summer for a break from the heat and humidity. Really appreciate you watching!

    It seems like it struggles to land the logs appropriately in the "splitting chamber" every time. You'd think this would be figured out by now for something that's 100K. You have to keep getting up and messing with the peavy. The bar also seems to struggle which is weird. Maybe the chain is ground too aggressive or something, or the rakes are cut too low. IDK, but it just doesn't seem to operate as seamlessly as I'd hope it would. Nice to have and see it work. Thanks for the demonstration.

      This type of processor does struggle with sub par logs. Most of the firewood logs I get my hands on aren't perfectly straight and have defects. Makes it awful difficult to pull them through the trough and have them fall straight in once cut. Completely different scenario if the logs are straight and no cuts or knots on them. I'm never lucky enough to get those for firewood production though. We diagnosed a bent bar a few days after I filmed this video, straightened out and she's ripping straight through now. Always something on these processors. Appreciate you watching!

    • @FoxfireProjects

      New pricing with today’s model for equivalent processor and conveyor would be around $110k. Thanks for watching!

    When the operator station is on this side of the outfeed do you get a bunch of sawdust blown in your face?

    • @FoxfireProjects
      @FoxfireProjects  ปีที่แล้ว

      Occasionally, if the wind is blowing in the right direction or the saw dust tube becomes clogged. Nothing too bad. After a full day, you definitely aren’t clean like a machine with a cab though. But not having a cab, makes it’s much easier to reload a large piece or free a stuck round. Thanks so much for watching!

    I hate seeing millable logs go for firewood. But nice machine. How many cord per hr do you think it can produce.

    • @FoxfireProjects
      @FoxfireProjects  ปีที่แล้ว

      Poplars grow like weeds here. Saved these from going to the landfill, but I know what you mean. A couple beauty saw logs in the pile for sure. Timberwolf claims 4-5 cord per hour. Check back in the coming weeks, have a few videos coming up with this beast back on the wood lot, where we'll see just how many cord she can do in a day. Thanks so much for watching!
