I am glad I could get you out on that bite! It really is a blast! One thing you mentioned about bringing up fish slower reducing the Barotrauma caused from bringing them up from deep water... It actually wouldn't matter how slow you bring them up unfortunately as the blood vessels in their muscle actually burst so even if you see that the swim bladder didn't pop out or they swim away they are dead anyway so as you said before just plan on keeping them or move shallower than 30feet if you would like to release fish! The only reason I fish that bite is the fish are considered invasive and you normally don't have to worry about by-catch of a gamefish species that might be under sized!

I looked into this. A slow retrieve does not reduce barotrauma…unless it’s like 20-30 minutes which isn’t practical. It’s a misconception that I was not aware of.

I've caught whites up to 22" on that body of water. Another good bait option is a sliver of belly meat. It will stay on all day lol. I'm surprised you guys didn't hook into any trout. Wish I knew you were out there I may have been out gill fishing there that day

Really cool to see how much higher the perch were than the white bass. Great video!

Thank you for showing your presentations! I refuse to watch videos, where fishermen refuse to show their presentations!

Generally I like to be more free with the camera angles but in certain situations I’ll be more careful.
