I remember dancing the polonaise on my prom in 1998... And once I attended a posh wedding in the Bristol hotel in Warsaw where the couple didnt have a typical first dance, but invited everybody to dance a polonaise instead. Of course the wedding director was competent enough to coordinate it 😊 And yes, it is unique. BTW, I just found out that in 2023 the traditional Polish polonaise dance (aka the Polish walk dance) was enscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List (so now it is internationally protected 😊).
Awwwnnnn, this is beautifulllll. I love the line up, the dress, the moves, everything came together to be sooooo lovely. This was so relaxing to watch 😊
"Polonez" is a traditional dance of the Polish nobility - equal in rights and obligations towards the state of brothers, deciding together with the kings about the fate of the state. The nobility in Poland created national culture. Today, high school students, one hundred days before they take their secondary school leaving exams, dance the stately dance of their ancestors.
This dance refers to the traditions of the nobility, where each ball began, depending on the era, with a dance; Polonaise or Mazur. Nowadays, it is a reference to the tradition of starting the high school prom 100 days before the high school leaving exam and entering adulthood. After the high school leaving exam, young people either continue their education at universities or go to work, entering adult life. In some schools, this dance is started by the school principal and teachers, and then they are students.
Every high school prom begins with this dance in Poland. This is the national noble dance of the Polonaise. The background music is a composition by Wojciech Kilar from the movie "Pan Tadeusz". Wojciech Kilar was a famous composer. He composed the music for Francis Coppola's "Dracula"(1992).
This customary dance is several hundred years old! Every great ball began with this dance, now the only great ball is at the end of school, at the beginning of entering adulthood. Nobility families proudly presented themselves in this dance, which in Poland was the end of knighthood and the beginning of democracy. Everyone in Poland has some great families in their history, or at least they imagine so. Everyone who finishes education has done a great thing, is proud... it's time to join our school, or send your child to Polish education and at the end dance a polonaise!
Poland is really unique. Their dance especially speaks class
You can say that again dear 😊
I believe 100 dniówka refers to 100 days before final exams formal.
To jest właśnie Polska.
To nasze tradycje i obyczaje
Despite the development, I'm glad some countries still retain their cultural values
Honestly sis
