You are the catfish magician Justin. Holding one fish, got another one hanging over the side waiting for you to get to it, and another one bites a 3rd rod. Also, it's funny seeing you catch flatheads suspending cut bait 2' off the bottom when so many people swear you NEED live bait to catch flatheads. Every video I watch of yours teaches me something new.
+Casual Carolina Fishing All the flathead fishermen I know swear by livebait. I have fished live bait more this year than in any previous year and have still caught more flatheads on cutbait than live. Not sure why that has been the case but I am always thankful anytime I catch one.
Thanks for sharing Justin I'm from North East Texas and started watching your videos a few weeks ago thanks for your input on how to catch Catfish you have helped me to break the code. Have been able to catch Blues on a regular basis now we're eating a few but now that we have fish in the freezer it's all catch and release. Can't wait to get into a nice Flathead. Thanks again your videos are a blast to watch.
Justin where did you say you got your double hook Foley spoons? I've looked everywhere and can't find them.... If you don't mind telling me, I would greatly appreciate the info...
Foley spoon doesn’t make a double hook spoon. At least not to my knowledge anyways. Catfish Sumo makes the double hook spoons. You can find them on their website and amazon.
Love your videos. Have a similar setup on my kayak. Lake I fish has a lot of 10 to 15 foot depth. Would you still drop your baits straight down in that shallow of water?
+Gary Romano I would probably still keep my baits 1-3 feet off the bottom if I was fishing those depths. Being that it is a shallow lake, I would probably do more anchor fishing too. Thanks for watching!
+Big Cat River Fishing I would rely on google earth and my depth finder. I would look for visible places that should hold fish such as river bends, creek mouths, points, etc. Once on the water, I would use my depth finder to locate the break lines and fish the same way I currently do. If I were going to be fishing the same area regularly, I would probably just take an entire day and make my own map for future reference.
I just went out to fish for catfish at a local lake because i was inspired by you. I had perfect size live bluegill and all the right gear but i didnt know what structure to fish. Could you (or anyone else) help me with where to start looking for catfish??
+PonyFoot123 Check out the Buck Perry structure fishing books. Those are the best resource I know of for learning how to read structure. They have helped me more than anything.
A person who is concerned about loosing rods overboard should leash them to the kayak. If one goes overboard, it will be because I knocked it over. The fish are not going to pull it out of the holder while suspend fishing.
+M Holder If your phone is a smart phone, there should be an app store on it. Search Navionics in the store and it should come up. I have an iPhone so I'm not sure what it would look like on other devices. I am going to try to put together a video on using navionics over the winter when I'm not fishing as much. Thanks for watching.
Thumbs up for a video to show everyone what Avionics can do. It is a precious tool of mine and the possibilities are endless. A detailed video and review would be very beneficial to many.
Hey Justin! Did you ever do the Navionics video that was being discussed here? I tried searching it but didn't come across one. If you have a minute, and you did do that video, could you point me to the title maybe? Appreciate you man! TD
I've thought about trying out ,just wondering the best place to order the planer boards.thanks for the videos and keep putting them out and I'll keep watching bub
Ahhhh. Now I know. You cheat and use a fish finder. Real men just fish.... like Steve and I. Lol. Kidding. Nice flathead. I’ve been thinking about getting a fish finder. I really wish you would quit it with the dinks. You’re making me look bad. Maybe you should come up this way (to Norris Lake, or Douglas Lake) .... then we could get some we can eat. Ohhhhh noooo.... you just schooled me on the fish finder at the end of the video. Me and my big mouth.
+Scott Taylor Haha! Your boy Steve has a fancy high tech graph on his kayak too. I am all catch and release. Even if I could eat them, I still wouldn't have an interest in doing it, especially with the big ones. Takes way too long to for them to get that big just kill them.
Kayak Catfish Ahhh, man. You get me every time. Lol. I need to come down that way sometime and fish on watts bar with you. I’ve been wanting to fish there.
The reflection of the clouds on the water and you in your kayak would make a beautiful picture

Love your laugh and your love of cat fishing!!!!
+Lauree Cunningham Roaming Texans Fishing America Thanks! I enjoy doing it.
Jeremy Wade Jr! Nice video, thank you.
+Monk Haha! Thanks! I appreciate you watching.
Midget fish are better than no fish in the boat. Still a great video and full of instructions on how to catch fish and enjoy our sport of fishing.
You mentioned you were drifting, not trolling. What is difference in your book? Also what kind of rig set up for both? Thanks so much. Great channel.
What kind of mounting hardware do you use on your rod holders? Screws? Bolts? Rivets? Has to be pretty solid for those take downs.

Awesome video, as always! How do you know what structure you are on without a lake map on your sonar?
Hey Justin like this vid very helpful thanks
Great videos and great tips.
+Danny Cal Thanks man!
Another great video!
+4_sons_fishing Thanks!
Love your videos. I’m learning a lot watching. How did you get the different color side plates on your reels?
Thanks Gary! I appreciate you watching. The reels came that way. I haven't switched anything out.
Kayak Catfish o ok and they are abu 6500s ?
The two I use are actually 5500s. If I ever have to replace them, I will probably go with the 6500 though for the extra line capacity.
Kayak Catfish ok that’s why they look different . Thanks for replying .
Nonstop catfish action. I know what you are looking at on your screen. You are watching my videos.
+Adventure Outdoors A fish finder that shows depth and plays TH-cam videos. That's a billion dollar idea for anyone with the skills to make it happen.
Was just getting ready to message u and ask where Friday’s video was lol
+Super Hank Outdoors Haha! I thought I would change up my days and see if that doesn't help my views.
How would you recommend reading a river with no lake map? Just curious how you approach this. Thanks!

Kayak Catfish thanks man, I’ll keep that I mind next time I go out!
Lovr your channel man!
Thank you! I appreciate you watching.
Very quality vid. What rod do you use for suspend fishing?
+Carson Reynolds Thanks! I use ugly stik rods.
Ugly Stick is a goid, decent rod. I remember when everything Shakespeare was made in the USA.
Kayak Catfish how high off the bottom is ur bait?
@@yooperts 2 to 3 feet.

alright thanks!
from my point of view, looks like you could loose your rod. how do you secure your rod n the holder?
A person who is concerned about loosing rods overboard should leash them to the kayak. If one goes overboard, it will be because I knocked it over. The fish are not going to pull it out of the holder while suspend fishing.
a lot of dinks. great vid. i have verizon as a phone, how do i add a avionics ap ? could you do a vid on phone avionics ?

Me & Scott don't need technology. Our DNA and inner cellular structure guides us towards the fish.

I literally cracked up laughing on this comment.
