@Stevo Runs - The blue frame looking part is for you to expand within the bladder to allow the bladder to fully dry. The bladder will be fully open for air drying therefore less chance of mold and mildew forming. Thank you for sharing this video. I needed this education.
Thank you, this was a really helpful and informative video with some good tips…I’ve just unboxed my Camelbak and Im about to use it for the first time this morning 😀👍🏾
My goodness- this is genius! There was a solution for the slosh I feel soooo smart to have check this out on TH-cam and come across with your video!! :D
This channel is a revelation! I've learned how to correctly use a hydration pack and kendal mint cake isnt actually a cake! In my head I pictured it to be a fruit cake but it looks more like a peppermint cream!
I have a question though. What should the water consumption be like during a 20k training? I get a few sips every now and then but it's not more than 200ml during 6-7km. Moreover, I find it hard to stabilise my breath while running and drinking. If you have tips and tricks with the distance or timing, I would love to hear!! Many thanks...
No worries. I find i don’t drink enough either and also feel unstable breathing. Now I just take a mouthful and breath through my nose whilst swallowing a bit at a time and that feels better for me. As for the amount, I look at my Garmin estimated fluid loss and try and go with what I think need. About a litre for 20k. Fill your bag up with a litre and see how that goes and then trial and error I guess. I sweat a fair bit though.
I used to use a camelpak until I tryed a salomon hydration vest, you have better access to your food and drink during your long runs also you know how much your drinking.
Looks pretty tight under the arms there... I suppose if the bag doesn't go down the length of the back very far, it kind of has to be tight there, maybe. If the straps got loosened right up, I imagine the top of the bag would fall out from the back.
Yes it feels good being fairly tight and feels like it’s part of your body almost. No moving about. Can get hot under there though so try a few things out to see what works
@@StevoRuns - That does seem to make sense. I'm going to give the Rogue Light 2L version a go in person to see how that one fits. It's a bit longer down the back than the 1.5L similar version, but I'll try them both.
Good question Ben. If you’ve got a proper cleaning pack then I’d definitely use it but they do harbour bacteria so give it a good scrub. At least an ex army one will be good quality.
@@Ben_2761 oh I see. Mate, mine tasted like shit from brand new so I know what you mean. Try putting a bit of juice, some tailwind or other electrolytes in it to flavour it. Mine just tastes like rubber without so I use tailwind to get the electrolytes and calories in at the same time as water which works well.

Oh that makes perfect sense! Thanks for that!
@@StevoRuns No problem. We helped each other. 👍🏽👍🏽💙💙😉😉
thanks man. been trying to find a small camelbak with a pocket to put the keys and phone in. cant stand having crap in my shorts pockets when i run.
Nice demo, Stevo. I never thought about mould in them. If I ever get one I'll at least have a clue what I'm doing with it now.

Thanks Shuksy! Good luck using yours, they are a good bit of kit.
@@StevoRuns Same for me. You helped get me going yesterday with my Camelbak - after watching many videos. Thank you!
Just purchased my first camelbak hydration pack and Thank you

😂 we’ve all done it. I found the solution on TH-cam myself haha. All the best
just wanted to thank you for the very clear explanations and tips 👌
You’re very welcome, glad it was helpful for you.
Just got one for a festival and this short video was perfect. Good job 👏
Tysm!!! I’m going to boot camp today and I didn’t know how to use it 😭
That plastic thing you stick it in the bladder to help dry the inside of the bladder and to hang it up.
Great video, thank you for the tip on the cleaning kit, about to use my camelbak for the 3rd time and been wondering how to clean the tube!

😂 you learn something new/useless every day!
Brilliant solution to the slosh.
Good info. The slosh and the clean. Thanks 🏃♂️👍
After a clean, I store mine with baking soda / water mix.
Then a quick rinse when you are ready for use.
Brilliant tip! I will try this on the next one. Cheers
great video. I also bought this camelback and what an amazing quality it is!
Awesome bit of kit Kevin! Cheers mate
Good luck for Monday Steve! Go well!

Cheers Hatch, that’s good to know for a future upgrade.
Thanks for the helpful information
Excellent! Especially if you suffer from hidden alcoholism.
😂 i do fill it with beer on a long run.
Using mine 1st this weekend.
Going on freezer tonight.
Nice one. They’re a decent bit of kit!
Great tip!
🙂
Did you get the Primus reference?
Awesome!! greetings from Colombia
Greetings from the UK Horsacio, cheers buddy!
Hi, what model is this pack pls. Thanks
Hi, it’s a camelback Dart.
Thank you!
What model of Camelbak is this? Looks like just the one I need and I can’t figure it out!
It’s the Camelbak dart. Just lacking a few pockets on the straps but all in all it’s a decent bag for shorter distances.
What is the cleaning brush set called?
Just put ‘hydration bag cleaning kit’ on Amazon and there is lots on there now as low as £7 👍🏼
Great video! Thanks!
Awesome tips!
Thanks! Glad it was helpful
@@StevoRuns You're so kind! Thank YOU, sir!
brilliant! thank you!!!
This bag water bottle drink or heathy
Thank you for sharing!
My pleasure!
>Great video dude! ty.
No links bro?
No sorry, didn’t think at the time.
It’s a camelbak Dart if that’s any help. Cheers
@@StevoRuns got you.
Thank you Chris! Can you sing a little bit of Viva la Vida?
😂 I can to be fair but that’s for another time.
To swallow: you must use your teeth??? Or how do you swallow???
You can use your teeth but I pinch the tip with my fingers then put it back in the clip when done.

slosh......very clever
Thanks I needed this to sneak alcohol into a festival 😂
😂😂 great work man
Just to know about the slosh was worth seeing this
😂 it’s a pain in the arse that slosh.
Rinse it out after every use then put it in freezer till next time. You’ll never get bacteria
Great tip! I’ll do that from now on, thanks
Wait, you're meant to suck out the water? I thought by some magic it free flows...
😂 yep, surprising isn’t it!
@@StevoRuns Silly me, but I was troubleshooting for two hours until I found out it didn't free flow 🤣
CamelBack Cinema.
Thumbs up😅😂
😂 👍🏼
Wear headphones
True, but you still feel it sloshing about compared to being tight. Fair shout though
Too bad you don’t mention a thing about when water can’t be extracted when trying actually drink from it. Geez.
Good point, but do people struggle with the drinking part? Could have mentioned it I guess but people work that bit out like I did.
Throw in the freezer
Fucking nightmare. Never buy one of these.
😂 didn’t go well for you then I take it? Mines been fine so far
Got an ex army issue one. It has a chemical anti bacterial taste should I clean it? Is it ok to use?
Good question Ben. If you’ve got a proper cleaning pack then I’d definitely use it but they do harbour bacteria so give it a good scrub. At least an ex army one will be good quality.
@@StevoRuns thanks, mine says on the website it’s been antibacterialy treated . You can definitely taste it. Any way of getting rid of the taste?
