I think i'm sticking to the XTR 2 due to the ease of part availablity and vendors in my area. I think the biggest thing i'm down the wire on is a license plate quick swap system so i can port the plate from the back of the car to the stand. Thule has some thoughts on it but I'm not sure if there is a better product out there for it. If i get into the turn signals and this plate then it becomes a custom wiring solution to hook it all up like a trailer. Really want to take bikes but i dont want to get a ticket :D

Thank you I was wondering about having four and how safe/easy it was compared to the competitor. The other feature i liked is the extension off the back of the car and the wear bar underneath the hitch post extension.

Any of the big guns in the industry like Thule, Yakima and Saris (among others) make an excellent product that'll last for years. The Thule T2 PRO XTR4 you'd looked at is pretty much an industry standard with many great features, such as the ability to remove the 2-bike add-on. The rack has a 40 lb per bike capacity with the 2-bike add-on in place or 60 lbs per bike without out the add-on. It'll handle bikes with tires up to 5 inches wide, and can tilt rearward away from the vehicle which allows some cargo area access. Was there other racks you were looking at? Let us know which competing racks you were looking at, and we'll be happy to compare them for you.

I hope that Thule could come out with a 5 person platform bike rack.

Unfortunately, we do not currently have any 5 bike platform racks. This is most likely because of the weight of the bikes. We do have a 6 bike fork hanging style in the following link.
