That’s what’s weird! In no American jurisdiction that I’m aware of is it up to her to drop the charges. It’s not like a simple assault charge, it’s more like attempted murder, wherein the investigation and prosecution will continue regardless of what charges anyone is pushing for. I’ve never heard of detectives just saying “oh the mother doesn’t want to pursue it, who cares about the physical evidence”
@@blazaybla22 it is up to her because she was the one to filed those charges. Since she initiated it, it's up to her. It would have been different if the city/State brought the charges first.
When my boy was abused I didn't have a choice about pressing charges. It was up to the prosecuting attorney, as it should be.
@@Shalyn-ln9tu It’s up to the plaintiff to drop the charges, so in a civil suit, yes, what you’re saying is true. In a criminal suit, the state is the plaintiff which initiates charges based on witness testimony and/or whatever the investigation has turned up.
In other words, once charges have been brought, the state is the only one that can drop them, although they will often do so if the key witness decides not to participate (leading to that being described as “dropping the charges”). However the state does have the final say on criminal charges.

My mum and dropped my charges as we were told it would take 3 months til 3 years to go to court. And they said I would be over it by then. I was 12 at the time now nearly 38 and still not over it.

I was guessing she was hoping to break them up so she could get him back. I hope the poor child was able to get some normalcy in her life because in that environment it wont go well . I can't fathom having evidence and dropping the charges
@Louise Hughes not sure what state you live In but that's wrong I was sexually abused by my cousin that's was 27 and I was 12 and cops arrested him immediately after his sister told his mom what he was doing to me and his mom had him arrested. I was told if I didn't comply he would hurt his baby sister and brother so I chose me instead of them.
I knew he did it when Steve asked him if he stilled loved the daughter and he said "more than you know". That's disgusting! And Belinda moving that molester back in just made me mad.

The state allowed it so they could investigate both the mother and the father. The investigation was so slow to begin with because they were probably investigating the mother as well for being negligent. Just my opinion.

When I found out my daughter was being touched by my ex, I kicked him and his kids outta my house the same day. What's so screwed up is, he did this to her in Arkansas and I found out about it after we moved to another state. Since it didn't happen in this state, they wouldn't do a damn thing.

Little girl is 3 years old and that's her dad. She's way too young to understand what has happened to her and how to feel about it. So of course she appears to love and miss her dad, that's her dad, but that doesn't mean he didn't abuse her. All women should always believe their children and keep them safe because we as adults understand how bad things like this are and how they could get much worse and cause long term damage if it continues or worsens.

Sometimes I question the justice system. THIS is one of the reasons why it's so messed up! Me and Mom had seen a news report about a female deputy sheriff that tackled down, her gun taken and NEARLY shot at by some punk scumbag, and that guy got a NOT GUILTY from the so called Jury! The deputy quit her job because she got PTSD after that incident!

I recognise the symptoms as I have had 2 attacks - it’s horrible!

The first was in February 2014 and affected the left side of my face. The second was at the end of October 2019 that affected the right side of my face. In both cases I had to drink either using a baby cup with a spout or a drinking straw.
When you have an attack, it looks as though you’ve had a stroke but it only affects the face. It’s due to inflammation of the facial nerve on one side or the other. Only treatment is short course of steroids, plenty of rest and lots of patience as you get the muscles working again. As the affected eye won’t shut on its own as usual, you have to tape it shut or it dries up.
WTH!!! The little girl has said that hee father has touched her inappropriately, then there medical evidence that she saw messed with and she dropped the charges and movhom back in with his fiance. SMH
