Yup, I would save my torn up senkos to use on a weightless T-rigg on pressured ponds. That gets bit when nothing else will especially when they are just big enough to be rigged on the hook properly.

Hi guys, not a Ned specific comment here. 4 months ago I got to borrow my cousins kayak and brought along a baitcaster and a friend gave me a little piece of junk hollow frog bought off Amazon for 5pcs@$10. Its was crap! I hooked about a 5#er after a few days going to this pond nearby. Since then I've been painfully aware what real life addiction looks like-to tackle, gear, and especially techniques! Thanks forever to yall both for the videos that have started to change my life in a specific and amazing way. I'm an ex-drinker who needed a healthy outlet so badly- and have rediscovered a passion from my childhood thanks to that cousin, a China frog, and the information you both provide so readily and consistently! I could never say thanks in a way that would properly express how life has changed for the better here in Maine for me... so grateful to the powers of the universe that have realigned my senses of what's important and real and good. Thanks again forever for helping this happen. Best wishes
    TZ

The ned rig is one of those baits that I heard a lot about, then went out and bought a bunch up, then proceeded to not catch many fish on. And I have tried it. My theory is that a mucky bottom with dingy water (which are my water conditions) make the ned rig less than optimal. Anybody else have this issue with the ned rig?

Buy Z-Man Bang StickZ, the 5 3/4" Neko rig stickbait, and cut them in half!!! TacticalBassin fans this is my TOP Ned rig tip!🤜🏻🤛🏻🔥 The front half is a 2 1/2" TRD, the back half is a 2 3/4" TicklerZ!!! Best of all Bang StickZ are SALT FREE so you don't need to soak out the salt as you do with cut-in-half ZinkerZ! So, for the price of one bag of Elaztech you get TWO SETS of baits! Fish smart, shop smart!!!! You're welcome!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Awesome video as always guys...I just got back into bass fishing back in June after a 20year lay off and started hearing about the ned rig. I didn't start with the original TRD I saw a Jacob Wheeler video about a TRD Bugz in Green Pumpkin I went to the little lake just down from my house a few weeks after I got the ned rig and I had a pretty good day and from that point I have thrown ned rig 80% of the time. I almost always catch something on a Ned almost every time I go out. Large Mouth, White Bass, Carp, even a catfish lol I use a medium action 7' rod on straight spiderwire...I'm still working on the braid to Fluorocarbon leader.

For the beginners we need cheeper bait's just saying reality. We don't want to spend $100 to start. I got my first setup was the pre rig chubb's lures or lunkers Hunt lures no salt weedless needs on the cheep on monofilament line. The $20 setup first time to try out if I like it. No salt float best just saying if you want it to floating bait. To lay on the bottom of the floor get bait with salt 🧂 is Ned's bait Crippten night.

Hey guys I love tuning in and you have never steered me wrong. Im looking for another spinning rod setup. I currently use a Shimano Sahara 3000 on a St Croix Mojo Bass 6'10'' Medium Light. I am torn between the Ultegra and the Nasci. I would use it for various types of presentations it won't be just for Ned Rigs. In the description it says your preferred set up is the Ultegra 1000 or for budget the Nasci 2500. Which would you guys go with I'm not super concerned with the 50 dollar difference in price if its worth extra performance. Finally, would you combine it with the Shimano Intenza 7'6'' Light or get another St.Croix Mojo Bass I have been really impressed with mine so far

My most used plastic, CPF is my go too ned. The Powerbait Chigger Craw is my go too for a guarantee bite, something about it that it works better than anything else. I use an EWG Ned Rig for a lot of versatility in bait options. My shimano sensilite rod with a bfs reel is my fun setup for ned rigs or my ultralight spinning combo, these two are a blast when I hook a fish.

I'm gonna let you in on a secret: using that 6'10" medium light rod, 1000 series reel, and light- really light tackle- you're maturing as an angler. As you get older, you'll find youself using that particular rod more and more. It's more comfortable, laid back, and easy to use. You'll put your crankbait, spinnerbait, buzzbait, and generally heavier rods and techniques away in favor of it. I know I did. It just comes with age. Next thing you know, you'll only be sitting down and crappie fishing!

Do you guy's ever use scents on your ned rigs? My water it less than a foot visibility and wonder if scent would help at all. I still catch em, just want to know your take on it.

    Matt and Tim,
Nice to see you devote an entire buyers guide to The Ned Head a finesse style bait. Tossing one of those on Matt’s Conquest casting rod would be nice. I can not fit a Conquest in my budget but if anyone is looking to go finesse and use a bait caster I suggest the Phenix Feather 7’ 1” light 4 to 10 lbs line weight. Don’t let the low line rating fool you. This rod has a lot of backbone once you get into it, nice soft tip to load up those light lures. I have horsed a few 3, 4, 5 and 6 lbs small mouth and large mouth on it. A joy to fish with, very light in hand paired with the right reel. A balanced combo as you mentioned in your recent video. I am waiting for the Curado K MGL to become available so I can pair the two up. I think it will be the perfect budget finesse combo. Tight Lines to all.

Have y'all tried the Daiwa Steez SVF AGS 7'6" MML. I'm a Shimano guy but that rod fishes better than the NRX 901 or 902 and has a crazy weight rating of 1/16-3/4 oz and it could easily replace the NRX 872S too.
