Some yes, while some other - not. Colloquially in an informal conversation people used to tell something like zdraste or draste. That is you may just pronounce the word drastic without ending c.
When I first started, my Russian teacher was kinda surprised with my pronunciation. Maybe because I've learned Arabic, English, Japanese, and German before starting Russian so my tongue has been trained a lot lol. My native language is Indonesian so I have 5 totally different ways to pronounce things before starting Russian. I once said to my teacher that the way my tongue pronouncing Russian is a mixture of Arabic and German with a hint of made-up French lol. Among my first Russian words, I really love to say карандаш and журнал. Dunno why
I am 13 years old, and for my whole life so far I have known Russian, and while I know russian for as long as 13 years, I cannot pronounce the Russian "R" when I say r in Russian it sounds like I am a toddler, I say it with my throat if that makes any sense?? I beg please someone help me..
Well, it means quite a tourist attraction. Attraction as the state of mind or physical force are translated to different words. I would rather translate it not attraction, but sight as in sightseeing. Attraction attributed to some sort of activity or force would be притяжение (prityazheniye) in Russian.
the first couple words were definitely hard. and it wasn't surprising to see the Russian "hello" listed. when I started, it was one of the first words I learned and it was a mouthful. Comparatively, pazhalsta (my focus on learning Russian is more about reading and understanding, not so much writing- not yet anyway) I always found really easy. It's interesting to me how in Russia, they use pazhalsta for "please" as well as "you're welcome". Katya's one of my favorite people to watch in videos for learning Russian. She's like having one of your friends as a teacher.
+veteranJMacfan The Germans use the word "Bitte" in the same way! In French, we differenciate "please" and "you're welcome", however some Belgians use the same word "s'il-vous-plaît" to say both.
top 10 hardest russian words to pronounce for *english speakers*, I guess? English is my 3rd language and I didn't have too much of a problem pronouncing these words. And my mother tongue isn't slavic either.
The question is HOW you pronounce them.. probably with a heavy accent and that's why they're The Hardest Russian Words to Pronounce. I heard foreigners speaking correctly (grammatically) in Russian, but with a really heavy accent while trying to pronounce some words. Pronunciation is hard for non-Slavic speakers :)
If you have hard time pronouncing "clothes" just say "close". If you have hard time pronouncing "всплыть" just say it with a short "a" like "вaсплыть". If you have hard time remembering and/or pronouncing "достопримечательность" just say "интересное место".
I was expecting it to be harder. I'm a Brazilian and can't say much in Russian yet, however I have no problems pronouncing those words from the video, they're pretty basic))
Most English speakers have the hardest time pronouncing ы. And I find these two words challenging: голубь (to say it acceptably to Russians) and мгновение.
"Достопримечательность" is pretty hard for foreigners ofc, but for instance german equivalent is not the easiest one as well. Fyi in german it's "eine Sehenswürdigkeit"
nice video! I always habe a problem with вскуно aaaalways do it wrong, but these words are not so hard... and I will never remember разводиться (looked it it now agaaain! ;) ) keep up the классную работу! ;)
+guerilla guru Hello guerilla guru, you can say "Куда ты хочешь поехать" (Kuda ty knochesh` payekhat`) - "Where do you want to go" (informal) or "Куда вы хотите поехать" (Kuda vy khatite payekhat`) - "Where do you want to go" (formal) . "хочу поехать в Москву." (Ya khachu payekhat` f Maskvu) - "I want to go to Moscow" (for formal and informal situations). Team RussianPod101.com
Zashtsheeshtshayoyshtsheekhsya!!!! Это форма слова защищающиеся - защищающихся. Привет из России:) hello(zdravstvuyte, privet) from(из, iz) Russia(России; Rossiyi) :)))
In Russian you barely recognize a person's place of "born and bred" but there are a few accents you can momentarily get: 1. Southern/Ukrainian (almost same, 'cause Ukraine was always Russia, kind of provincial/countryside accent); 2. Northern accent (North to Moscow/not the North of Russia); 3. Caucasian accent (very funny accent); 4. Baltic/All foreigners(not Russian from Baltic) accent. That is all. Other than that you can recognize the people from low social level, not from the area. This girl sounds grew out of Russia or such low class accent. The nicest accents you can find in St. Peter-burg or a bit south of Moscow like Kaluga. That's it. I speak the perfect Russian.
Well, most of these words are basic for Russian studies, and I don't see any of them really hard. Maybe they are for English speakers, but not for Central Europeans :) My biggest challenge was to properly pronounce oкружающая среда
The only world in Russian I can say is the word for yes. I tried to learn Russian for my grandfather and family, and my mouth, which is accustomed to Chinese, English, and Spanish, and my mouth kind of just gave up the moment I tried to say hello.
Скороговорун скороговорил скоровыговаривал, Что всех скороговорок не перескороговоришь не перескоровыговариваешь, Но заскороговошившись, выскороговорил - что все скороговорки перескороговоришь, перескоровыговариваешь. И прыгают скороговорки как караси на сковородке.
Those words are hard for English native speakers (and others), my native language is Portuguese and for me the word which is actually hard to pronounce it’s: разрыхлитель, I can say it, but I have to stop, breath and then pronounce slowly. Ры after аз it’s so hard
There are 2 factors that make the russian words hard to pronounce, specially to latin languages and to english: a) very long words and b) certain combination of consonants which are very uncommon to us...usually a vowel is preceded or followed by one consonant and maximum by 2. This does not happens in slavic languages.
Это слови были лёгки для меня. Другие дольги слова Обязьятельно, замечательно, останавлибается, возможность, существительное. Это дольгие чем английский слови. Польский язык произношение кажется как русское

Oh My Freaking Goodness, it's total nonsense but still sounds soooo sexy XDD And it's not just the word alone, it's fitting that word with other nonsense words together without tripping into anything lolol Can't wait for the day I'll be looking back at this present and think 'I can't believe I found Russian so hard to speak' XD
I am from Armenia and as you know it is a former USSR country so I know Russian very good. Maybe thay are the hardest words in Russian but tthey are such hard that she cannot pronounce them right. She is surely not Russian. Maybe Belarus or Ukraina but definitely not from Russia. She makes mistakes while pronouncing. Althougn Russian pronunciation is quite hard.

French has something from Russian and vice versa
Qeisama Hebat banget mas ...
Maybe because the words карадаш and журнал are not Russian, but descended from Arabic and French?
#whiteknightamirite

I saw the word for "attraction" and i wanted to cry XD
Try German words and cry harder
was ist?
die Sehenswürdigkeit?
ahaah

top 10 hardest russian words to pronounce for *english speakers*, I guess? English is my 3rd language and I didn't have too much of a problem pronouncing these words. And my mother tongue isn't slavic either.
I'm a native Spanish speaker and I could pronounce it well so she probably does mean the native English speakers.
The question is HOW you pronounce them.. probably with a heavy accent and that's why they're The Hardest Russian Words to Pronounce.

Zashtsheeshtshayoyshtsheekhsya!!!! Это форма слова защищающиеся - защищающихся. Привет из России:) hello(zdravstvuyte, privet) from(из, iz) Russia(России; Rossiyi) :)))
эти слова очень легко произносить для поляков
ну да, слово "шишка" очень похоже на ваше произношение, как и другие
Я итальянка, изучаю русский два года и начала изучать польский самостоятельно. Думаю, что польское произношение труднее чем русское.
+Giulia Tonero Наверное, ты просто не змея, которая шипит 24 на 7.
Насчет поляков, конечно, никак не удивлен ...
защищающийся I think its hard to pronounce even for me, and I am fluent in Russian ;D
