Did you put in at leconte center again and where did you yall take out lol im scouting for a tournament gonna have my 8yr old with me but thanks for the video footage looks like a great area to fish I caught 7 last Friday on the lower end but gonna start exploring the upper
Yep. Put in at Leconte parking lot again. We ended up taking out across from the Apple Barn. I love fishing this area. We were going to fish the section below Bud's Gun Shop the next day, we got totally rained out that night and the river rose real high and was as muddy as can be. We will try to hit it again in a few weeks hopefully. I was really wanting to target trout that day and then go for smallies on the next day, but the trout were not biting good at all. I missed the one in the video but my buddy caught two. Normally we would limit out in this stretch with no problem. We had a big storm and there was snow melting off the mountain tops and it was cold, so I think that had some affect on it that day. I'm sure your 8 year old will have a blast!
@@BooneDownSouth that did look like a fun stretch to float and yeah this weather has been hit or miss lately and they also tore out a dam below tanger outlet and I was wondering how bad it affected things but could tell a little by the video so that was good to see it was still flowing and had deep holes still

@@matthewmaples7094 So it could take 5 hours or it could take 8 hours depending on how many times you stop to fish certain spots. If you have the time it is just a little bit further to go on up to TJI Fridays. It's just a little further but it's a lot easier pulling out there. You can drive way down in the bottom of their parking lot and it goes right up to the river and its only like 3 foot rise on the shoreline to pull your kayak out.
