In my film days I loved this camera. Since I only buy used gear I ended up with about 4 of them. The program mode always chose a higher shutter speed to eliminate camera shake, something that carried over into the digital age. Pentax always seemed to make cameras that were designed by photographers. I shoot both Pentax and Nikon and I can say that the Pentax cameras seem a lot more intuitive to use. The Pentax menus are a hell of a lot easier to use.

I just picked up one of these in auction, and I was pleased to find it in excellent condition, and that it fired up and worked when I put a battery in it.

Sounds like a bomb when the timer is counting down. Definitely shouldn't use the timer at school nowadays 😅

Hi, thank you so much for the video. I inherited this camera from my mom. I do not know how to use it. I'm learning but you seem to open the film door very easily. Is there a latch or something? Mine is not wanting to budge. Thank you in advance!

I currently see this camera available at a mission thrift store with a long lens going for $25. It looks good condition should I pick it up???

Why not for 25 bucks, Seems like a steal lens itself might be worth more atleast where I'm from

@@birdylover100 thanks dough boy. You know how it is when you pass up on a great deal and then you regret not getting something later.

The long lens might be the A-35-105 f3.5 which is an amazing and highly regarded lens among the manual focus pentax lenses.
So, did you end up buying the camere? And if so, which lens did it come with?

Some help please: On the instruction manual for this camera it specifies you can use either two 1.5v batteries or one 3v lithium battery but at first glance upon opening the slit compartment is that only a 1.5v would fit through that hole unless I'm missing something..?

I just picked up one of these cameras and replaced the battery. I was able to fit two (2) 357 type batteries in the battery compartment. Stacked on top of each other.

I personally use two 357. Sorry for being 4 years late lol

How do you turn off the camera? With the 'L' mode?

The downfall of the design is reading the meter as you need daylight. Yes, it has a little button to back light but it's a bit awkward.
