The Kim Sisters were a Korean-born American female singing group who made their career in the United States during the 1950s and 1960s. They are known for being the first South Korean music group to achieve success in the U.S. market, and for performing more than 20 times on The Ed Sullivan Show. The group consisted of Sue, Aija and Mia.
Thanks to TH-cam I am able to discover the incredible talents of the Kim Sisters. In my childhood in the early sisters i can only remember with deep personal sadness that when they would appear on Ed Sullivan my Mother would jump from her chair ond turn off the TV saying "Nobody wants to hear or see that". She seemed to have a deep prejudice against anything to do with Korea perhaps because of her brother's (my uncle's) traumatic experience in the Korean War. Totally irrational, but then again so is all racism. Thankfully it never settled into me deep enough that maturity and education quickly and effectively snuffed that out.

My grandparents were also very racist, thankfully they never said that stuff in private with us as children, but it was a shock to us as we got older and they started saying things we were always told were wrong and evil. I like to think that even though they thought those things, they knew it was shameful to pass those beliefs to their kids and grandkids, so I count it as them who took the first steps in breaking the cycle❤
