Know this is a meme but let me explain a little bit, Ahri and Yasuo came to Bilgewater to find "something", and pressumably, Ahri know about the Shadow Isle upcoming invasion ,MF caught wind of this from Illaoi who is a priestess that worship Bearded Lady, Pyke is a phantom in Bilgewater so information is not a problem for him, Braum possibly heard about this and also came, Lucian and Senna is already on Shadow Isle to prevent the invasion to happen. And also Ahri is one of the iconic female faces of LoL so there you go.

I’m proud of Riot trying to broaden their horizons, the lore really is great and needs to be used in an RPG.
Riot before the MMO announcement: Say no more.
Here I am hoping against hope that they'd make a singleplayer RPG that focuses more on lore and stuff.
Edit: just found out it's a singleplayer turned based RPG, and I'm gonna coom. Turned Based and RPG are two of my favorite genres.
YEah was crying for that like 100 years ago. But this is soooo slow... I hope the ideas they get without me won't be boring...

It's probably because of the different art styles due to using different animators.

Admittedly the game taking place between Freljord, Ionia and Bilgewater makes sense with the cast. If the trailer is to be believed. Shame Senna and Lucian aren't seemingly involved in the game as they do have a history with the shadow isles.

I'm excited for literally anything expanding lore for League and new gameplay. They've been killing it with their branching out. I do wish this trailer at least offered an explanation of what this is, though. Just the description gives "turn-based RPG." I just have no idea what that means in League terms. But whatever they'll show it eventually and the animation is dope.

To be fair it might not have been big enough for him to consider shielding himself cause hes dealt with bigger things. The only time we really see him actually using the shield is explicitly to completely protect others most the time

From this and the other ruined king cutscens it seems they got on the boat, saw veigo on that island, gave him a lift to demacia, picked up poppy, let fortune become a servant of the ruined king, dropped pyke off at the sentinel tower and then sailed off to vegas with yorick, maokai, and kindred... yeah I get its a prequel but we dont have ruined skins for illaoi, Brahm, Arhi or Yas... so, making a guess
