I honestly could have seen Richard Pryor doing a cameo with George Carlin and Didi Conn on the show, Shining Time Station back in the day. George and Richard would have been perfect for a Cameo appearance together on STS back in the day. George and Richard both showed the down to earth and Fatherly/Grandfatherly sides of themselves by being connected to a children's tv show. This show of Richard's was short but it had a decent little number of cast and guests. Sammy Davis Jr, Willie Nelson, Robin Williams, Lily Tomlin John Ritter & Marla Gibbs. Etc.
I can't believe this... I've never even heard of this sitcom. I grew up in the late 70's early 80's. However I was homeless from 1974 until 1982 so maybe that's why I missed it.
BIG shout out!!! to Ray Parker jr. And radio for the theme song of the show radio is one of my favorite R&B Funk an pop groups late 70s early 80s no doubt I miss Richard Pryor an John Ritter this show has a lot of memories for my childhood growing up.
So true.I've started watching the old tv show: Father Knows Best and loving it. LOL.I've never seen this show before tho, gonna watch the entire series now. LOL.
Thanks for posting this! I was 12 when this aired! I would try to catch this every saturday morning, then it abruptly ended? My first memories of Richard was the movie Silver Streak in 1976 with Gene Wilder when I was only 5 years old! The intro brought me back to a better time.
Thx 🙏🏽 sooo much for sharing these videos! Reminds me of my childhood! This is hands down one of the best theme songs for a show! 🥰🎶🎵. & the content of this show is unmatched until this day, still! 🙌🏽🙏🏽✊🏽

John Ritter R.I.P
Something I can watch with my daughter without having to cringe at what she may be exposed to

Too bad it didn’t last very long. I guess the target audience just couldn’t get into this over Bugs Bunny and other cartoons on Saturday.
Man I don’t know if I’ve seen anything cooler than this

Gosh, yeah! I could watch 10 more eps of Pryor’s Place!
Am I hearing Roberta Flack in the background?
just told my wife how the theme song totally glued me in when i was a kid.
Kind of sucks. Terrible melody and repetitive lyrics.
Nostalgic 🥺 I LOVED THE 80’S 💕
I totally forgot about this show!! One of his clean shows
Never knew this show existed, theme song is 🔥🔥🔥
Ritter killed it.
So it was a family comedy show ?
Would have rather seen a “late nite” version.

I don't know if Richard Pryor is the black George Carlin or the other way around. I suppose it doesn't matter when you think about it. ✊😆

CBS Saturday mornings. They only did one season.
Pryor idolized Cosby and this show is his attempt to be great at PG style like his comedy hero Cosby!
It’s even more impressive to know lil Richie did all this off a half a key of coke 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
