Nu Metal was a thing! It was a massive part of my high school years with significant other from LB and everything Korn put out. This genre catches flak from everywhere, I loved it and still do. Fred Durst was the ultimate hype man. Nookie was my jam for a long time. I graduated HS in 2000 and still put it on blast at 42 years old.

My older bro loved Limp Bizkit. If you’re intrigued by the rock/metal/rap combination, I highly recommend Linkin Park! They’re classified as “Nu-metal.” Their first two albums Hybrid Theory and Meteora are basically no-skip albums. They also did a joint album with Jay-Z called “Collision Course” which is Linkin Park’s and Jay-Z’s hits mashed up. They did a live concert as well of these mashups, it’s here on youtube!
I was a teen at this time, LIMP BIZKIT, KORN, DEFTONES, SYSTEM OF A DOWN and my ultra favorites because of the lyrics and messages, and the OGs of the genre RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE. No wonder I ended up ARMY with this kind of upbringing. Please check RAGE AGAIST THE MACHINE their energy is insane, their lyrics go ultra hard.
feel like im the only Gen Z who grew up with Nu-Metal. i had an older brother who was blasting all the late 90's - early 2000's music when i was a little kid, like 4, i remember he even ripped a CD for me with all the hits, my dad broke it in half when he heard the swearing tho XD bro made another one with cleaner songs for me tho hahah.
Wow, this was a WILD trip down memory lane. I haven't heard some of those songs in like twenty years. Limp Bizkit was HUGE in the late 90s/early 2000s. They (and KORN) were the front runners of the whole Rap Metal genre. And then Linkin Park became big too. And yes, "I did it all for the nookie" means what you think it means. LOL.
If you want to check out some true genesis of combining rap and metal, check out "Bring the Noise" by Anthrax and Public Enemy from the early '90s. It was originally a PE song, but the two later collaborated to cover it. Anthrax did their own rap song, "I'm the Man" a few years earlier that was good as well but more Beastie Boys style. Instrumentally, though, Bring the Noise might have been the first proper mash-up of the two genres.
Limp Bizkit rocks. The only 0,001% I dislike is that they don't play Nookie just like the video, the part of the chorus:YEAH !! C'MON !! I wish LB would do the audience shout: YEAH, YEAH,YEAH !!! C'MON, C'MON ,C'MON !!!
Watching someone listen to this for the first time allowed me to get that excitement of getting listening to it again. I've been an LB fan since 9th grade and have been ever since. Their music is absolutely amazing. Great band.

I remember rocking to these guys back in the day. I remember my boss calling me into the office and offering me concert tickets to a band he never heard of. It was limp bizkit with Eminem (he was just coming up). I snagged the ticket. Special guests were papa roach, and D12. Great show...and absolutely wild. Fred durst called the entire stadium down to the floor for a massive mosh pit. I wasnt brave enough to go, but it was awesome
That was the best concert of my life. I was up in the nosebleeds, & then when Fred called us down, I found myself 3 rows from the stage. I'll never forget Sam's lights from the frets of his bass straight up in my face.

"downloaded the shockwave" is a lyric that nobody who wasn't around in the early 00's will even understand anymore. That one line more than anything makes me feel old.

Crazily enough the rooftop scene was shot on top of the World Trade Center and Fred Durst (Red Cap) received a letter from WTC representatives thanking Limp Bizkit for the video feature after the video for Rollin’ won an MTV Video Music Award. The day before 9/11.
These songs have an explicit version if you don’t like hearing the cuts it’s just not an official channel P.S. Glad you decided to share your dive into Metal Rap. Nice trip down memory lane! Hope you check out some of the other artists mentioned in the comments.
Crazy trip down memory lane! I was never really in to them, but hearing these songs again... I know them so well haha. They were such a huge part of pop culture in that MTV/TRL era.
As a Gen Xer, I love seeing these reaction vids! Watching the youth essentially listen to the music that was probably what their parents were hearing back when they were the same young age!
I'd also recommend Rage Against The Machine - Killing In The Name is a classic of theirs, and I really like Guerrilla Radio too. They combine rock, metal, rap and funk!
I'm glad you enjoyed them!! My dad used to listen to them when I was in high school and I've continued to casually listen to them since, but I've never seen their mv's or looked up the lyrics besides what I could catch during the song. I didn't realize their songs actually had good messages. Crazy how bts leads us down different rabbitholes like this!
Yes that was Dre snoop Eminem and the front man for Korn can't remember his name Korn was lit as well they had allot of socially conscious lyrics you should deff check them out and if you really never heard rap and rock mixed before then you never heard of Linken Park which in my opinion was the absolute best PLEASE PLEASE CHECK THEM OUT THEY WILL BLOW YOUR MIND with songs like Faint and one step closer absolute masterpieces
Limp Bizkit was a voice for the voiceless back in the late 90's and early 00's. We were mad and angsty and Limp just was the pulse of society at the time.
This took me back. It was so much fun to revisit these songs with you and see how much you vibed with them. You definitely have to listen to "N 2 Gether Now" featuring Method Man (the remastered funky version of this is cool, but the DJ Premier beat that was the initial release of this song and originally on the Significant Other album is 🔥, and the best version IMO) . There is also The Neptunes Remix with Pharrell version of the song. It's a banger and I think you'll like it, especially the DJ Premier production.
Thanks for taking me back in time! It was fun to watch this with you. I was a teenager when this music was popular. This not what I expected tonight but I'm here for it.
Oh man... I'm announcing my age here, but I listened to LB back in high school, there were a lot of cameos in that video that I had forgotten about. This took me back.
I know I'm ageing myself here lol but they were BIG when I was in highschool, it's all MTV plays then. Their album Chocolate Starfish and Hotdog Flavored Water was a banger cover to cover, we used to play it at max volume at weekends and think we're so cool listening to them lol😎Good times!
I was like 7 when my brother got their album "Significant Other". I remember running down the stairs so fast I almost fell when the premiere for the Nookie video came on MTV. Good times. The name for this type of music, and the type of music that was VERY popular, exploding onto the scene in the late 90s early 2000s was called NU Metal. It was a mix of Rock/Metal/Rap and honestly is still popular now despite people memeing on it.
Always nice to see a young'un appreciate some Bizkit. :) Yes, Fred Durst's shenanigans used to be hella annoying, but to this day very few bands can bounce a crowd like the Bizkit. p.s. given that the Rollin' video shows them playing on top of the twin towers, it's older than 14yrs!! ;)
Love that you enjoyed this. Not exactly sure why people always seem to wanna 'hate' on Limp Bizkit for so long. But trust me, just like you were doing here, when that shit comes on, you can't help to rock the fuck out to it.
I grew up listening to this guys since my dad was really into nu metal and metal. This brought me back to my childhood. Also Loui, you really need to check out Range against the machine. They are awesome
what’s wild is “Break Stuff” and “Nookie” (or as you put, “Rat Metal”) were from their 2nd album, ‘Significant Other’…which was released in 1999. the rest are from their 3rd album, ‘Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water’ which dropped back in 2001.
I'm glad you included us because I used to listen to Limp Bizkit many years ago. I enjoy all your reactions, mainly BTS, but all the others are great too. Keep doing you - it's working.
Limp Bizkit was good but I was also one of the haters. The music is okay but the lyrics are stupid. I think most of the hate came from the 'pop metal' style they have. Plus, having Korn, RatM, Marilyn Manson, Snoop and Eminem as their competition didn't help..
Whoa this brought me WAAAAAAAAY back ! Thanks for the trip down memory lane- Rollin came out in 2000 I think and one of those days was 1999- but it still slaps 🔥
if you look up the vans warped tour and family value tours from the 90s you actually end up seeing alot of rap artists and old grunge and alternative bands used to hang out alot back then cause of the skate culture
Waw It takes me back to my late teens! If you like this, you may like System of a down and Rage again the machine (two groups with amasing and impactful lyrics, and great sounds)
For kids who grew up watching wrestling in the late 90s through the 2000s, Limp Bizkit was basically the voice of the generation.
Wrestled in Minnesota and listened to Metallica, Rage against the Machine and Limp Bizkit.

Crazily enough the rooftop scene was shot on top of the World Trade Center and Fred Durst (Red Cap) received a letter from WTC representatives thanking Limp Bizkit for the video feature after the video for Rollin’ won an MTV Video Music Award. The day before 9/11.
These songs have an explicit version if you don’t like hearing the cuts it’s just not an official channel
P.S. BTS did a dance performance for a part of the song rolling I’m pretty sure you’ve already reacted to it it’s this one if you’re curious what I’m talking about th-cam.com/video/S1Up-ZzHmuw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=IuJookegu8y1ija5
He came to this song after that performance reaction 😂
Yup, he reacted it already, hence why he's listening to Limp Bizkit now lol. But nice of you to drop a link for any potential Limp Bizkit fans who don't know about it
😮MY TEEN YEARS ARE FLASHING BEFORE ME.......KEEP ROLLIN ROLLIN ROLLIN....... CHOCOLATE STAR FISH🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Add in some PAPA ROACH, PRODIGY, LINCOLN PARK, DISTURBED, ROB ZOMBIE, KORN, EVANESCENCE, AVRIL, NO DOUBT, RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS oh my god there was so many...I miss those days
Yes it's like 8 am and my 38 year old ass is moshing by myself in my room while I'm supposed to be getting my daughter ready for school. Let me not mess up a knee!! Thanks @TribeLoui 😂😢
@@pebbho 🤣😂
Gotta take a look at the band korn. There stuff from 1994-1998 is especially good. My two fav bands are korn and bts.
Everybody reacts to Killing. Come on! Something else... Bombtrack is fire
@@dudee499freedom and vietnow imo are way better than killing in the name and bulls on parade but that’s just a personal opinion
Bulls on Parade
too bad RATM went from "fuck you, I wont do what you tell me" to "fuck you, do what daddy government tells you"
Check out their first record "Three Dollar Bill Y'all" for a proper intro, it's fantastic.
Thank you for including the tribe. I’ve always liked Limp Biscuit!
Johnathan Davis is the front man of Korn. 😊 This video really took me back! I forgot about all those cameos in the Break Stuff video!
@@lmg.quinceoh right for some reason I could only remember Munky and Head lol😅🤦🏼♀️
It's a banger and I think you'll like it, especially the DJ Premier production.
better believe me and all the 80's born tribe here is singing along with limp bizkit !!! best 90's antem ever!!!
43 year old ass me watching this and smiling 😊 Loved the video bro, you seem like a chill dude! Keep up the good energy!
8:36 Rock v Austin iykyk
X7 was awesome.
You were cool. Embrace it
I was like 7 when my brother got their album "Significant Other".
If we are going down the rock genre then i recommend Alice In Chains, Red hot Chili Peppers, Audioslave, Foo fighters, and Tool.
good ass recomendations
4:45 Jonathan! It's from 2000, TH-cam slowly through the years updated the MV catalog xD
Always nice to see a young'un appreciate some Bizkit. :)
Yes, Fred Durst's shenanigans used to be hella annoying, but to this day very few bands can bounce a crowd like the Bizkit.
p.s. given that the Rollin' video shows them playing on top of the twin towers, it's older than 14yrs!! ;)
19:40 is called "My Generation", not "Matthews Bridge". That line (Matthews Bridge) is in homage to their hometown of Jacksonville.
This is why you're my favourite reactor... Omg you just took me back back 🥹🙆🏻♀️✨
Love that you enjoyed this.
Still so strange, seeing the Twin Towers, this was recorded right before they were hit by the terrorist, and the last video ever made on them.
Dude you got me smiling and giggling throughout.
Thanks for doing this, man!
This reaction was great, got my sub. Really hope you move into more music like this,. Also, I love seeing people's faces when Snoop and Eminem show up
WOW what a surprise!!! love Limp Bizkit, saw them live once, always enjoyed their energy. awesome reaction!!
Bizkit are awesome and I’m happy to see the newer generation checking them out. I seen them twice live back in the early 2000’s, awesome live. Enjoy
Amazing vid 👍👍👍 they just performed here in Argentina a couple of weeks ago, over 100k people going crazy in the moshpit.
Best collection of song's. Well done! 👏 👏
These were the best of times, great musical experiments and we all got along. Great video friend ✌
Gotta say I like this set up. I liek the standing/moving to the track vs the stereotypical sat at your desk review. Nice little change
I like your reaction style. You really get into it.
Lol, I grew up listening to this stuff. Enjoy!
I had just as much fun watching you enjoy this group as much as I did hearing these songs again after 20+ years.
what’s wild is “Break Stuff” and “Nookie” (or as you put, “Rat Metal”) were from their 2nd album, ‘Significant Other’…which was released in 1999. the rest are from their 3rd album, ‘Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water’ which dropped back in 2001.
Ahhh the memories of these songs. Glad you checked them out too, all because of that BTS performance video.
I am from Venezuela and I like your reactions, it helps me practice my English. keep going that!
THROWBACK THURSDAY! 🥳🎊🔥🔥🔥🔥 Oh, the party anthem memories to these classics! 😂🙌💜
can we do a early 00s rap rock pop punk deep dive?
Don't think this dude realizes how big Limp Bizkit was. Band was HUUUUGE in the late 90s and early 2000s.
I'm glad you included us because I used to listen to Limp Bizkit many years ago. I enjoy all your reactions, mainly BTS, but all the others are great too. Keep doing you - it's working.
“Back when DJs were cool, it wasnt just a title. They actually did something”. Omg what a fucking brilliant take. Love this video ❤
Man you have the best reaction style/setup. Not just staring into the camera
I remember back in the day when people hated on Limp Bizkit so much, but when they hear it like 20 years later they love it 😂 I guess nostalgia wins 😅
Back in the day Limp Bizkit was a giant. Not much hate until the Woodstock incident. Which wasnt entirely on them.. ;)
Over play on the radio and MTV made the hate.
I played two albums on repeat because someone told me they didn't like it at work, for weeks.
Limp Bizkit was good but I was also one of the haters. The music is okay but the lyrics are stupid. I think most of the hate came from the 'pop metal' style they have. Plus, having Korn, RatM, Marilyn Manson, Snoop and Eminem as their competition didn't help..
@KrazyIndeed also the lyrics are more corny than a Pilgrim's turd.
6:24 "I know Fred" guy is Pauly Shore - vid is stacked with cameos
I was 16 in 1999 when I first found put about the bizkit. Loved watching your reaction. They were the biggest band in 2001
You should check out either Limp Bizkit or Korn's Woodstock '99 footage. I especially love Korn's set opener, "Blind." The crowd will blow your mind.
You gotta watch WwF WrestleMania 17 the rock and stone cold my way hype video. Coolest hype video in wrestling history.
It's so fun to see a first time reaction to music I listened to and loved as a teen!
Oooo down memory lane...my once a..... 23 years agooooo
Suddenly i feel 20yrs younger 😂😂😂😂
dude the video for Rollin was done on top of the Twin Towers in NY City in September of 2000!!
WHat - STANDING and a reaction - Love it - need to watch more of your video!!!
6:15 the fact that you don't recognize most of the people there lol, how old am I?? T_T
Amazing video bud, watched the whole thing. I grew up with it, and you are not wrong. Bangers!
Waw It takes me back to my late teens!
If you like this, you may like System of a down and Rage again the machine (two groups with amasing and impactful lyrics, and great sounds)
These tracks are still so much fun. Great video 🤝🏻
