I believe you are the first natural trumpeter I've heard playing an instrument without holes, and it is a revelation. You are an artist, sir!

Mr. Madeuf recorded some a couple of years before. But very few clear live recordings. 😊

And here is one more proof of the beautyful harmony between the human voice and the baroque-trumpet. Masterfully played to our enjoyment. Thank you very much for this jewel gem of arts.

Phenomenal; beautiful!! Superb phrasing, incredible sound -- delicate, robust, resonant. Thank you for all of your dedication and hard work to master playing in the properly historic manner. I hope to hear you in person one day.

Virtuosic trumpet and a Soprano ideally suited too; so often one hears rather insipid vocalists in this context but this lady matches the beautiful trumpet excellently.

It's neat how the harpsichord (?) Almost plays a percussion role on top of driving the chord progression. I though I heard a high hat at one point and realized it was the the harpsichord lol

Early Settecento Neapolitan music deserves UNESCO World Heritage status. That is when Western music came into its own. Among the non-Neapolitans of that same time period, I like Albinoni melodically the most. Vivaldi can be a little frenetic sometimes. But Caldara has been a total surprise to me when I recently discovered him. He is just phenomenally good. Wow! Leo Depuydt PS I used to play the trumpet, so I can fully appreciate the historical accuracy and authenticity of this performance. I followed what Edward Tarr was doing already in the 1970s. PPS I find Caldara warmer than Mozart. I was asked in relation to a remark like this: What don't you like about Mozart? There is nothing that I do not like about Mozart. He was a brilliant musician and I own and have listened to All of his music, most of it more than once. But I still feel that, as a musical soul, Mozart is no match for the transcendental Pergolesi. OK, let's assume that this is all subjective. Fine. But expressing the opinion that Pergolesi and Leonardo Leo are superior to Mozart is suddenly an expression of dislike. Why? There is no dislike. We agreed it is subjective. Your position is not subjective. It is a a push for declaring Mozart the objective pinnacle of western music. No way. I subjectively propose that Pergolesi far surpasses Mozart in musical sensitivity.
