Free market pricing is based on supply and demand. In the TA region supply does not meet demand. As soon as you move away from the city, prices take a nose dive. Two years ago a brand new three bedroom condos in north TA were priced at around 2M shekel while 40 miles away (Ashkelon) same unit was going for 800k. Today's economy is making many new millionaires and many folks can afford a 2-4 million unit. In our Miami area new condos are up 30% in past year as compared to Israel's 14% increase. Housing price increases are occurring all over the globe. My suggestion to new immigrants and you is consider the suburbs and don't follow the gloom and doom of the leftist publication Haaretz or Times of Israel.

      Hey!
I was just looking up the rise in housing in the Irish market and quite revealing. Things aren't so far behind.
Yes, the suburbs would be an obvious choice although a family member is set against them.
ETA: I agreed with your response right through to until the end, by the way. What does Haaretz's left-leaning agenda have to do with any of this?

@@DanielSRosehill Haaretz is turning any situation into a crises to gain exposure. Saw their housing report and it sounds like the end of the world.

So just to clarify ... you're claiming that the Times of Israel and Ha'aretz are exaggerating the extent of the housing crisis in order to gain more views? Also: I'd love to get your take on what the right-learning sources are doing in this respect? I presume that they're immune from this avalanche of fake news?
