Carol & I are long-time customers of Canary Motorcycle Tours. Joy & Martin are a great couple. We started riding out there with them probably about 8 years ago when they only had four CBF600s.
I managed to grab a day ride following Jose only a couple of weeks ago. So nice to get away from the rubbish British weather. I got lucky as we rode my favourite GC200 road from Ageate following the cliff road. Just stunning.
Riding out in the Canaries becomes addictive. I bet you will be back

Hi Kate, had the VFR 1200 DCT many years ago, loved the gear change. Went for a NC 750 X DCT to add to my stable, but it was a nine month waiting list, so I bought a manual which is still great for my camping trips.
My only criticism is the suspension, so changed the front fork springs.
The NC, is massively underrated , in fact my Street 765R gets seriously underused !

The DCT bike seems just perfect for those roads Kate, as you would be up and down the gearbox like a fiddlers elbow with all those bends otherwise. And those bends!! And those views!!! Although the heat must have been draining on the body?

I did it 2 years back, had a great time. I was going back this year but ended up doing Malaga instead. My mate Jerry Barnes was going late November /early December you were lucky to miss him or you would have to pay extra at UK customs as your liver would be well over the duty free allowance. I had 3 days on a SV650 and two on the F800R middleweight bikes are perfect for those roads and we were properly going for it on a couple of days. Both Martin and Jose are excellent riders and will go as fast as you want them to as long as they consider it safe.

Nice roads. Great to see them again. Missenden Flyer goes there a bit. Looks like a heaps of fun. Seems like the NC750 tips in nicely in corners. Love the landscape! Agreed just taking it easy as lots of solid walls to collide with if you get it wrong.

It has a low centre of gravity with the cylinder block tilted forward and the fuel tank low in front of the back wheel. It is torquey from low revs too.

I have an Rebel 1100 DCT and CB650F, and I love my DCT as well. I've found that many ppl decide that they're not going to like the DCT before they ever try it, so they end up finding every reason to stick to their prejudice and never really give it a chance. It's different and a learning curve for sure, but once u get used to it, it's awesome.

I reckon riding a DCT is much like riding a Suzi Address, but with a little more oompf ! Apparently, if you twist that grip on the right hand side, it makes the scenery fly by a lot faster than it does on the Address. But honestly, is the clutch and gear change not a big part of the motorcycling experience? I like to determine myself which gear I choose to go which speed on which road.
I've watched somebody else do a video on a Canary Moto Tour (can't remember who tho) a couple years ago and immediately put it on my bucket list..., but life keeps getting in the way. Maybe next summer then!! Just wondering, if that would be a good trip to do in winter, i'll have to look up the average temps there in our winter, when were you there?

Not one response back from them. Maybe they're not interested in getting business outside of Europe. Dunno. I'll spend my dough doing the IoM and Billy Biketruck's African tours, I think.
