Do you know what? I bought one of these 2 months ago for £22 delivered in than 5 days from China on eBay and.... It's been flawless, I have had zero problems running Helix on it all day every day, boots up in 30 seconds runs fluidly for hours on end🤷♂️

I got this box for a replacement for a friend of mine, now I'm a shield user so it would be unfair to do any comparison at all! I loaded a few apps and Kodi on it and it works fine for the price its good, don't like the R/C that lets it down for me.
Nice and honest review! The main question for me is about those competitors in the same price range which are better/using better and more expensive components - how can this be possible? Having in mind that some cheapest 64GB SD card alone costs about $10...
Dam, just bought one of these after watching a video by Free Tech channel, where he said it was a great box and fantastic value!! will just have to live with it now and watch your videos for a future purchase in a year or two.
I have to say: I have an Entertainment Box R99 for quite a while now. I upgraded the firmware just recently, *thanks to Chigz*. It has a RockChip 3399. Using the Antutu 6. (?) Benchmark test scored about 70k, not too shabby. And while Antutu benchmark test aren't the end all while shopping for a tv box, it's certainly a gauge. Point is: I've heard about the other Rockchip chipsets, and won't consider anything else aside from the 3399 based on test scores and my experience. Additionally, I will no longer consider buying a box without a 1000 mb Lan. In the opening of the video, Chigz mentioned it having a 100 mb LAN, but at the end he said it has "Fast Lan speed". With the ever increasing availability of faster speeds from Internet Service Providers such as cable and fiber optics, 100 mb LAN really can't be considered 'fast' any longer. So, 3399...yes....3318 or 3328, absolutely not. The terms "Max"; "Pro", "Ultra", "Plus", are empty terms when considering a TV Box. Often times, these terms are hardly indicative of the boxes performance. Better dig a little deeper. Even if you're not a gamer and use it only for tv/movies, you should *futureproof* as much as you can. (I'm no gamer). From what I've seen, my opinion is-- I'm not impressed by the Nvidia Shield, or the likes of the Formula Z8 . So far, of the 6 boxes I own, I'm very pleased with the higher end mid-range quality, and price point. If you're anything like me, you'll keep your ears to the ground for Chigz reviews. the only negative i have with this box is when i stream tv and the app i use has an option where i can switch back between 2 channels im watching, well this box lets me do that when it feel like it, instead it rewinds the shows im watching, ive never had that done with any box ive owned with the app i stream from... the great thing about this box is the speed im noticing and the great pic quality... i have an LG thinq TV and im finally getting a use out of the high quality def the tv comes with unlike my last box a mi box which dropped sound alot..
Chigz but for price point its cool to have this for normal streaming and light gaming.. I'm myself using it for one month no issue at all this is my 6th tv box.. Along with fire tv stick.8gb.. Emish 8gb.older box.. .h96 max plus 64 gb colourful.. H96 max h2 rk2228.. A95x max 64 gb with expandable slot and this I recently purchased h96 rk3318.. I think even if cpu is not that powerful let's not forget in price point its even less than 50% of other TV boxes with 64 gb /4gb..and i think for people who want normal streaming and light gaming it's worth it and value for money we can't expect a95x or nivia shield type cpu with that cheap price .. Thats also a fact

I have the H96 Max box. Every time I turn on the box I have to turn up the volume on the box using the remote control. It's annoying. I keep messing with the settings but keeps doing it.
Been using past 1 month, It's a Keeper. Didn't face any lagging, degrade in Picture quality. Didn't try any Games, But other TV/Stream apps are working fine. One hassle is to use Remote straight pointing to device (Comparing Fire TV remote works anywhere in the room).
@@pauliliesi Forgot to mention, It has HDMI CEC option which allows to control the HDMI devices connected with this device (TV) and vice versa. Ie. You can use TV remote to control(navigate menus) this TV Box and Turn On/Off with same remote.

Exactly it's OK for watching HD quality films and even light gaming....... . For less than 40 dollars with such high storage ram etc we can't expect nividia shield or a95x type tv box...I'm myself having this no issue working flawless I thing my friend chigz Tech wants 200 dollars nividia shield in under 30/40 dollars.. We shall appretiate this company how they decreased price of these tv boxes with such high storage ram etc

Good review as I was about to purchase this box not so sure now. I just want a box that’s not laggy, fairly priced, smooth enough for Iptv. I bought one of these from FastTech to replace an older MK809III ( yeah, that's old ). Mine's a 4GB+32GB.Wi-Fi performance is acceptable. TH-cam, catch-up TV ( BBC iPlayer et al ), Internet radio and live streams of things like the British Touring Car qualifying work perfectly. Nary a stutter or dropped frame to be had.DVD rips to a USB stick work just fine. USB stick music playback works fine. So far, so good. Not so good. The remote is laughably bad. You *need* an airmouse or similar. The icons?, small white text on vivid, light green?, what twisted mind though that was a good idea. What psychotic masochist was allowed to sign that off into production. An alternative launcher helps here, but yuck. No easy way to get to running programs. No drop downs. No smegging Home button! The front display is so dim as to be redundant. Small text in 'Settings' and other menus. Small pointer. I've searched and can't find a way to increase the size. On my elderly MK809III, it was easy. I am an old-farte, so that may be the issue. It runs hot. Very hot. Worryingly hot. So little performance for so much heat.The Bluetooth is awkward. While my 'phone connects without issue, my joystick/pads are a little hit and miss and my keyboard is right out. I'm not much of a gamer, but I do enjoy a blast of classic Sonic era games now and then. Thankfully, the emulators run OK for that and SNES/GBA games. The Playstation emulator(s) I've tried work up to a point. I'll stick with the actual machine for that for now. Kodi generally works. The installed version has issues, but it's no major task to uninstall it and install afresh. That way, at least the add-ons work reliably. VLC works without issue. It *is* an upgrade for me. My TV does 1080p tops, so higher resolution stuff doesn't interest me. I'm not a Netflix or Amazon Prime customer, so that doesn't concern me. For what I use it for, which I'd place as 'basic use', it'll do, but the bloody awful stock icons, lack of outright performance and heat ( I'm slightly concerned it'll kill it ) mean I'd give it a rating of 'avoid'

For a few bucks (fiveish?) you will find handheld keyboards with a built-in touchpad (BT or 2.4GHz dongle included). Check Gearbest, AliExpress for deals. They have oodles of buttons, special multimedia controls, mouse functionality etc, some have illuminated keys as well. Perfect for such a TV box, turning it into a full-blown PC with any application you can think of.
Box is great at everything. I will advise anyone who buys one to go to this site which is pasted below to download the factory firmware, follow the instructions in the video. Once that is done, you can install launchers and every other thing apart from Netflix that didn't work for me. It plays 4k content very well. Heat issues will also be taken care of. Netflix required licensing and certifications (Google Widevine L1) this box does not have it, most android TV boxes similar to this will not have the certification. Therefore limited to 4800 or 540p max.

Cannot install new launcher or add widgets unlike older version H96. Zero feedback from manufacturer. Many apps not compatible. Time consuming to validate compatibility
So which one is best right now, with a good all around system for under $100 Canadian ($75U.S.). If possible, with either a voice remote or at least w/a keyboard typ remote, so we don't have to take forever to type in searches.... and who makes he t95q or the A95x max, etc.. This is cheap when you consider the ram and storage. Serves my purpose for TH-cam and other video playback.

Km9 pro was the best box, but one downside is Netflix is not supported.

H96 brand used to be solid. The past few devices have been terrible....they seem to be going backwards

Firestick 4K will give you Netflix, prime at 4K and its performance is very good. If you don't care about 4k Netflix then the T95Q is better.

For a few bucks (fiveish?) you will find handheld keyboards with a built-in touchpad (BT or 2.4GHz dongle included). Check Gearbest, AliExpress for deals.
They have oodles of buttons, special multimedia controls, mouse functionality etc, some have illuminated keys as well. Perfect for such a TV box, turning it into a full-blown PC with any application you can think of.

Not enough budget, rk3318 or rk3328 are good choices, S905X price is a bit more expensive. If you have enough budget, buy Apple, or Nvidia.

Box is great at everything. I will advise anyone who buys one to go to this site which is pasted below to download the factory firmware, follow the instructions in the video. Once that is done, you can install launchers and every other thing apart from Netflix that didn't work for me. It plays 4k content very well. Heat issues will also be taken care of. After installing the firmware, I kept it running from 10am in the morning until 11pm at night and temperature was normal.

Netflix required licensing and certifications (Google Widevine L1) this box does not have it, most android TV boxes similar to this will not have the certification. Therefore limited to 4800 or 540p max.

Cannot install new launcher or add widgets unlike older version H96. Zero feedback from manufacturer. Many apps not compatible. Time consuming to validate compatibility
So which one is best right now, with a good all around system for under $100 Canadian ($75U.S.). If possible, with either a voice remote or at least w/a keyboard typ remote, so we don't have to take forever to type in searches.... and who makes he t95q or the A95x max, etc.. Hey man, can you suggest an android box that will work with an external touch screen like Acer T232HL ? I am having touch compatibility issues with external touch monitors and android boxes.
