Do you know the tank size for a Senegal bichir?
yes 50-95 gallons @@JakesExoticPets
It has been raining since 2 days. The drainage facality is failed. My neighbourhood is flooded. There is water till knees in my neighbourhood. What a perfect time to watch fish tank review.
in many ways you are now the fish in the tank
@@galelululubro💀
@@galelululu😂
oh boy... wait are u in hongkong? I heard hk flooded hard in a matter of an hour
@@FishForThought I am in South Asia
I’ve also heard that adding floating plants can help against green water. Reduces the light in the tank, and also helps pull some of the nitrates out that the algae is feeding off of.
So true.. I have a pond and after on year we had plants, a filter etc but the water was green and had lots of algae after we added numerous floating plants this march The Algae never came and the water was very clear..
makes a lotta sense
plants in general should help. algae (and now floating plants) struggles to grow in my tank unless i fertilize like 5x the recommended amt bc i have too many other plants.
Some algae, i.e. the blue colored algae thrive in insufficient light. It's a balance act. Hands down though, most is great for the life in your tank.
Can you guys tell me what is happening on my tank cuz i "took" a small water lettuce and put it in my tank buutt over time they keep uhhh wilting? And gets dissolved on water if i leave it there
Everyone who was on FFT that got a 4.8 cursing watching Chris give this green food dye a 5/5
this is an underrated comment xD
Fish
Just fish
my guppy jumped out of a cup while I was giving him a salt bath, he survived 40minutes on the floor I found it covered in dust. put him back in tank he lived another year
Here's a thought: If you're making a Local aquarium, and you find artificial "decorations" while out in the wild. would you consider that acceptable despite technically being artificial? For example, I found a Hess truck half buried in the sludge in the ocean at a beach near me. It has mollusks and seaweed growing off it, so I have that as a backdrop decoration. Maybe it's just me, but I love the aesthetic of Nature reclaiming civilization.
Part of me has been tempted to make a trash tank that looks like nature reclaiming stuff with like empty bottles and other fish safe litter looking things. Haven't done it yet and have really only gone more artificial themed with my inverts so far. I do think it'd be a fantastic statement piece though. Been wanting to try my own spin on it after seeing Monterey's trash exhibit
My favorite thing to do in the fall is participating in cleaning up the canal of any fish that get trapped in there and will just dry out and die. I take them down to the river the water comes from. I'm getting really excited about that it's my favorite time of the year!
wow!! super cool thing you discovered haha
@@FishForThought thank you!
As much as we hate unnatural decor, this fall, I’ve chose to turn my blackwater tank into a Halloween themed tank. I still have my mopani wood, live plants, and natural river rocks, but I added in some cute Nightmare Before Christmas decorations/other Halloween-y things 😅
Did you get them from petsmart? :p i did that too to my tank got all 8 decorations haha
@@lruddy8820yes I did!
I had to trade in one of my parrots last week :( the female was getting huge and was being too aggressive with the male to the point it was causing everyone in the tank to get stressed out, not over her size but her size made it worse, everyone was hiding and then she decided to start on the plants (yup eating my words on that one!) Happy has never touched a plant (male) but suddenly Joy was taking all her anger out on the plants once the other fish were all hiding from her, the rocks I used kept her from uprooting any and had worked until this point, her mouth was not as deformed as most so she was able to use her teeth, she shredded over 100 bucks woorth of plants in just 3 days. Fish are recovering and not hiding now, tank is now going through an algea growth due to the loss of plants as I slowly replace them, I reduced the lights even but still now have algea to deal with sigh... I'm still sad I had to trade her in and my tank looking crappy at the moment is a constant reminder.
always a sad sad day when having to trade in a beloved fish, i'm sorry :(
Happy FTR Monday everyone!! Wishing all a super de duper week! Don't bother going outside to touch grass, touch some aquatic plants instead! Spoil your pets! ✌️
QotW; Fav fall activity: I live in southern California, so we don't really have an autumnal season. I do like drinking pumpkin spice chai from tazo, it's seasonal and fish tank maintenance and spoiling my fish, same as all year! 😉
Nice! What fish do you have?
@@skeleton2509 right now I'm doing only heavily planted nano tanks (health problems prohibit maintenance of bigger aquariums) with an emphasis on building Neocaridina shrimp colonies. But I also have, sparkling gourami, bamboo shrimp, Plakat Betta, pygmy cory cats, chili rasbora, Australian desert gobies (and fry) and some rescued guppies oh, and a colony breeding tank with adult celestial pearl danios and their fry (about 20 so far in the first 3 months).
Do you have any tanks? Or just watch FTR for fun?
@@laurabustos6560 Thats so cool! I'd love to see your tanks if your able to post any videos of them! 😊
It sucks that health problems are holding you back though, I hope that becoms less of a problem for you in the future.
Sadly I do not have any fishtanks as my parents think fish are stinky and messy, but when i move out I will definitely have some fishtanks!
ooo yes that tazo chai sure is something else
@@skeleton2509 well, as long as you watch good creators like Chris, I'm totally sure you'll give your future fish and water pets the best life possible! And fyi to your parents, a healthy fish tank doesn't smell like anything but water🤣. I have really stable heavily planted tanks and I mostly do water top off when it evaporates, about every month I do a 10% water change, and they don't smell, at all. If they did, that would mean there's a huge problem! Good luck on your future fish keeping journey!!
Is always good monday when i watch fish tank review!

yeay :)
My betta's name is Azula as well. But I named her that because she loves to bite me. Every time I trim the plants she just sits there attacking me🤣
When the guy said he kept the lights on from 8am to 11pm I laughed but then realized all my tanks lights were still on. Its 11:23....
I’m upgrading from my 10 gallon to a 20 gallon long. It’s exciting designing a new tank. Right now I have 2 ADF and 2 kuhli loaches.
Not me leaving my lights on from 8am to 11pm and I've never had an algae bloom .
At 11:05 the fish at the front is a paraiba cat fish and at the back is not a iridescent shark it’s a paroon shark. Happy Tuesday from Australia.
CHRIS!!! I discovered 10 eggs in my White Cloud Mountain Minnow tank today and you're the only person I know who would be excited about this news lol.
Oo!
Happy Mondays FFT Fam. Perfect timing bro I just got home after a long day at work. Working as a non-teaching personnel at a university (mostly clerical works at a research office) the environment is great but the office needs a fish tank if its only possible 😂
hope they let u make a tank there hehe
Qotw: I love fall temps so much! I tend to just vibe and sometimes I’ll sit outside and chill with the falling leaves. I also consume pumpkin and pumpkin flavoured things.
Chris, you should play disc golf. It's my favorite "as long as there's not snow on the ground" sport... and some people play in the snow. Glow in the dark frisbees mean you can even play at night!
the pleco is a RUBBER LIP PLECO i work at a pet shop and they are one of my favorite sellers stays at 5 inches full grown and usually retails around $7.
qotw: fall is my favorite season and Halloween is my favorite holiday (also my service dog's birthday!), so it's hard to only pick one activity. I love going apple picking and then making pie and apple butter. I love hiking when all the leaves change color. I love pumpkin everything. I love cheesy halloween movies. I love corn mazes and haunted houses. I love putting up halloween decorations and handing out candy. I love hot cider and homemade donuts. I love finally being able to wear flannel and sweaters again. 🧡🖤🧡🖤
true, i need my hoodies and sweatpants
I come here for the dimples, but I stay for the fish.
About that betta jar, there also looks to be duckweed in there, which will help to suck up the nitrates while also (hopefully) keeping them contained
Also Doug is a rubber-lip pleco, they max out at 7 inches and are almost entirely vegetarian
yeah for sure
Wow its been a while since I've watched your videos but I'm so glad to have found you again. I started watching you years ago and I learned so much from your channel. Your videos have literally taught me 90% of what I know about fish and now I'm getting ready to plant my new 20 gal tank! I also got a crested gecko last year and built him a bioactive terrarium(all thanks to Repashy hehe) and I couldn't be happier with my pets. So thanks a lot for making videos. you're making big changes to the fish world :D
I always have such a hard time explaining to people that algae is not 'dirty' but is more beneficial than harmful in controlled amounts
QOTW: What's your favorite thing to do in the Fall?
Me: Go outside and stand in the sun for more than a few minutes just to get to my car and not feel like I'm going to die. (I live in Texas and it gets so HOT here)
I like to start practicing my sfx makeup for Halloween, and continue dreaming about having a fishtank when I move out of my parents house. If I am able to, I might move out next year (I'd be 18) so am excited for when I finally can have a fishtank 😊🤞
woohoo! halloween what a fun time :)
Before the awful weather change. I used to love going to the different fairs during the fall. A little chill in the air, Gets dark earlier, might even get a little not quite rain but more than a mist. Now it's still 85f+ even in October.
the kerning maple music is the goat
For QOTW, my favorite activity is actually working my job! I work at a haunted house! It's so much fun!
I love this channel so much. I can always count on it with my morning coffee. Keep up all the great work!
drinking a cup of joe as well right now, cheers to that!
It looks like green gatorade 😂
lmao xD
My favorite fall/autumn activity is checking out carnivals and seeing if they have any fish
My favorite fall activity is jumping in the leaves snd reading :D
Goodmorning y’all keep yuh head up high and keep on doing what you doin
tyty!
YYUUOR FCUIKING VIDEOS GOT ME INTO FISHKEEPING I TOLD MYSELF IM NOT DOING AQUARIUMS BUT NOW I HAVE 2 TANKS AND IM ADDICTED LOOK WHAT YOU DID TO MEEE
I have my lights on from 11am to 3am... but them Bristle nose (4 of them) make quick work of any algae that spawns. Once I saw a decoration covered in hair algae and the back glass in diatom 2 days later clean as a whistle 😅 love those guys. 🤔 it might also be because I feed the Cichlids heavy too, don't want them telling their pals I ain't a good dad 😂
I love going on walks in winter in nature as there are very less people, so much peaceful and silent and fun
My 75 gallon is a great mixed tank thanks to the separated territories provided by plants and hardscaping. I have a pair of Blue Gourami on one side, and a ciclid on the other. My main focus of the tank, and before you complain he is planned for going in my pond, a high fin banded shark. The banded shark is my favorite fish in the tank, he is super friendly towards every species in the tank and he is a nice 10in right now. He is just about ready to go into the pond. :D
I Also just started a 5.5 gal shrimp tank. I got inspiration from your videos and have a nice planted tank that im going to introduce neo shrimp to in about 3 weeks now
Thank you so much for posting such consistently fantastic fish content!!! ❤
ty for enjoying!
Your videos always make my mondays better, I always come home from school and check youtube for a new vid.
fun fall activity for the US: monarch tagging events at parks
I collect and tumble rocks. I am going to incorporate some of the stones into a new aquarium soon, as well as a remodel for a bioactive terrarium I am setting up.
My Monday was not going just right. But then I saw the new vid notification. And now it is. Thanks chris
Mountain Dew tank for Guppies, got it
hahahah
Yessir he’s back, on Monday, as always, makes my school week easier
You’re not gonna believe this… but my favorite fall activity is fishkeeping…
yay! great start to a monday. the weather is finally starting to feel like fall so i look forward to indulging in some fall beverages like apple cider whilst otherwise not changing my daily habits at all
I look forward to your videos. They're fun to have play in the background while I'm working
I've started watching these videos when i have to do my plant care. So now I'm sitting here with my toothbrush brushing my roots and cutting up yogurt cups to use as pots xD At least I'm well entertained
nice vibes :)
I very much enjoy viewing your videos; and love your comments. They make me smile. Thank you.
aw ty for enjoying the content!
Hi Chris can we get a update on all your fishtanks please 😊
+1 on this, I wanna see them!
My guy made Monday the best day of the week. Happy FISH 👏 TANK 👏 REVIEW👏 (Happy FTR)
woohoo!
My Favorite fall activity is to take pictures of fall leaves either on the trees on scattered on the ground. Bonus if there is water on the ground or they are floating in it.
FFT, the best part of Monday ;)
aw :)
A few CPDs would be perfectly fine in that 7 liter, though I'd fill it a little more. Maybe a bit over halfway. But they would feel at home, especially if you added blackwater.
FTR makes my Monday awesome!
Dude, that is a SHOW betta…picked out by someone who’s colorblind for sure 😮
oh my goodness why did i think that said snow betta hahahaha
That uuaaAh got me 😂, monday going good 🤙🏻
aahhaha
Happy monday!
I once searched "Fish for small aquariums" and found "Nano fish for small aquariums".
*Video shows a bunch of fish that are SCHOOLING FISH*
STARTED MY FIRST PLANTED TANK!!
The condom jokes cracked me up. Those guys were on point with this one. And let's see, fave fall activity....hmmmm🤔........ oh, I know....NO MORE MOWING. LOL
lmao xD
There are so many good Star Trek memes going around at the moment, it's insane!
My favorite fall activity is not dying of heat.
My elders are chilling in a green 31lt container like this 5/5 ..
Hell. The plants from the shop I threw in it is fine
Qotw: I'm from the South America, so it's spring here! And we don't really celebrate Halloween. Either way, I love to collect seed pods, leaves and wood on fall so I can use them on my tanks. PS: thanks for the 5/5!! The plants are all native, not so common on the aquarium trade: waterpoppy Hydrocleys nimphoides, potamogeton gayi, lilaeopsis brasiliensis, and two non identified species of eleocharis
Have good day Everyone
my fave autumn activity is wearing hoodies lol
heck yes
Thank you for always making my Mondays better
ty!
@@FishForThoughtanytime sir 🙏
My betta is judging me after seeing the jar setup 🤣
Its Spring where I am but in Autumn I like to do more thorough tank cleans so i can lax through the winter a tiny bit esp if it really cold.
sounds like a nice vibe
I breed both goldfish and guppies and often chuck my SBD fry into the green tanks and they always improve and recover overnight! Who needs chemical baths for goldfish when you have perfect remedies in your natural geeen algae tank?! 😂😉
Nice information
"You dont know how much that tickles my insides". 💀🖐️
Love the vids bro
tyyy
carnivorous plants help when you already have too many animals, try looking into further than flytraps and bellsprout pitchers
Shrimps eat it up and snails too, referring to the green algea tank i have 3 like that a whole years ,then clean some and the guppies thrive
QOTW I love the cool temps along with the amazing colours in nature. Next to winter, it is my favorite time of year. Lets not forget Halloween!! I live for that stuff.
woohoo! I feel like i'm starting to like summer and winter more than any other season now tho
Autumn activities collecting acorns and admiring wild flowers like asters
what a vibe! love the asteraceae family
Favorite fall activity: oh God where do I begin?
Apple orchard and getting cider
Camping
Hiking
Harvest festivals
Oktoberfest
I can't even choose one and the list continues
Love the STARDEW VALLY music in the background for your vidios!!
Hey Chris, sadly school started and I can't watch right away but sadly my bamboo shrimp was dead when I got home.
I normally don’t watch your fish tank reviews but this video got me curious. I expected the tank to be for invertebrates since I know green water is perfect for them. Green water like this is the ideal setup Daphnia and Moina (daphnia’s cousin) and a few other feeder animals plus shrimp and snails live fine in it too. Especially when algae starts taking over the walls
that guy will have a crazy guppy farm with that green water! I tried to make a green water tank for raising white cloud fry but I couldn't keep it green
My favorite thing to do while at a fish store is to surprise people that i am ten and I know way more about fish then them
Good morning😊
Watching your videos trying to get the nerve up to do a ghost shrimp tank!😂🤗
My twintail halfmoon beta is in a 5 gal tank with 2 Octoinclus and has a filter
Restaurant hop for soups. It's soup season. Bring on the pho, stews and chowders!
I was just watching you're videos 😂

Finally! I finished all the old vids.
woweee
Ftr is the only thing that motivates me to wake up on Mondays
best Monday
woooo!
woooooho I be an uncle now yah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!@@FishForThought
That Jar above the water method is a bit risky ngl.
I have heard other's fish suffocate in the jar because there is no water flow. And fish are just stupid, when they feel suffocated, they swim UP.
QOTW: For me, it's fishing and fossil hunting, the weather is cooler, and the fish are really active before winter
My favorite fall activity is depression!
special shoutout to my homies the hillstream loach gotta be one of the algae eaters out there
hahaha
Yooo great morning cory gang.. its monday ..keep it up.. lol
