I am a nurse and don't have much time for this kind of stuff but I love how simple you make it look, your products that you use, and how you make your video fun and real! I will continue to follow you!
Want to share that I have a makeup kit just for time-pressured mornings. It has three different foundations in it so I can decide what kind of coverage I need based on skin condition and weather. For eyes and face I put in the Bare Minerals Magic Act palette which is 6 pink and brown ready shadows, two blushes, a bronzer and a highlighter. I have pink, coral and purple lipsticks in the kit, an eyebrow pencil, an eyeliner, cream eyeshadow base, a mascara, mineral veil and all the brushes I need that all live only in that kit. Putting that kit together has really streamlined getting ready for me when time matters.
I loved how down to earth you were in this video. It gives us viewers the opportunity to see you as a "real person" rather than just a typical edited video! I would love this series to stay kinda informal!
i dont mean to be offtopic but does any of you know a way to log back into an instagram account? I somehow forgot the account password. I would love any help you can give me!
I love your before picture 😄 My favorite part about this video/blog post is how real you are. And how far you have come since first starting The Small Things Blog. This post has to be one of my favorites. Love it! #SuperKate
Honestly. I think if you didn't talk and say what shades you were using, you probably could have pulled it off. Just set up the camera, and do like you do when you wake up at 6:10 and Luke is starting to stir. Then do a voice over on what you used and what you're doing. I think you lost a good chunk of time talking and looking to see what shades you were using/showing the camera what the color looked like in the pan. That said. That in 15 is FABULOUS! LOL
So even though this video has been out for awhile heres something that helps me tremendously. I have all the products that are ESSENTIAL to my everyday makeup routine in 2 travel bags. This makes it easy to have one bag for tools the other for makeup. I specifically keep the choices minimal so I can make quicker decisions since I do my makeup after I get to the parking lot of work, I commute an hour to and from so often I'm literally grabbing my coffee, breakfast, work bag(s) and everything to get out the door ASAP! Another thing that has saved my life has been a cheek and eye pallette from NYX cosmetics, total time saver!
I was so nervous and excited right along with you in the beginning! Very fun video and I can't believe what a teenager you look like naturally. Your very lucky!!
Before I start doing my make up I decide what I want to use and pull it all out onto the counter, that saves time and frustration when trying to do makeup quickly. Love the video!!! :)
My favorite video from you! Love how raw this was. I'm tempted to time myself to see if I could be "fresh in 15"! I need to pare down but I'm a hair and makeup lover as well. I love the process, but need to work on being able to get ready faster... Wonderful video, would love to see more like this. You are one of my faves!
The realness in this vid is great (even the buzzing monitor mistake)! "Leftover powwwderrr...." "Look less like you just had your spleen removed...in fifteen." You make the small things fun! In fact, practically all your self-talk along the way sounds amazingly like mine. Very relatable! :)
Sometimes I really only have 5 minutes. And I swear this works. I have an "extra" pair of mascara, bronze eyeliner and brow pencil just in my bathroom. When I run in I just use the eyeliner but thicker and it looks like a shimmer line (not liner and not shadow). I then do mascara and then slow down to get nice brows. I stick bobby pins in my hair for an "up do" look.apply hairspray and one final mascara touch up and run out the door. I don't bother with blush because it would be melted off my face by the time I get to the garage but here is the winner: after driving to your destination with the air conditioning on there is 30 seconds to just grab my brush and bronzer and quickly frame my face and apply a light fluff all around. Maybe a little darker under the cheek bones. Boom. People compliment me all the time - "wow you get here so fast and you're so ready! Look at you, I need to get my life together". Then I say something reassuring about how it's just taken practice!
First of all, you looked great right from the start. You roll out of bed looking better than I leave the house most days. (Not to say that you didn't look amazing after hair and make up, also.) Second, I am so jealous you can curl your hair that fast! even with a hot wand it takes me fifteen minutes to do my hair alone. Bravo! Thanks for sharing all your tutorials!
Love this video! I've been watching your hair tutorials for years because they are quick and easy. This is the first time I've watched a video that really shows your personality and I love it! Going to be watching a lot more of your videos for certain
Bwaahaahaahaa!!! I just found your channel (watched the blow dryer tips and don’t first then this caught my eye). The part where you say you want to organize your bathroom so you can get ready faster, but don’t have time for that crap had my in stitches!!!!!! Seriously I have two kids and all my bathroom drawers are full of useless stuff. I tried to go through them yesterday and didn’t really achieve any noticeable results. 😂
Absolutely love this video. Wonderful example of making it work in 15 minutes. How 'bout "Natural Dream in 15"? Looking forward to more of your spunky side and challenges in the coming year. Glad I found your channel.
This video makes me happy! It just sounds so normal. Having to up your time, how you made sure you didn't know what you were going to do at first, and the baby monitor! And I totally get the baby monitor thing I have probably done that too and I am not even a mother just an aunt. :) lol
I loved this video because it was so realistic! I feel like some of the other videos I have seen like this by other you tubers, they have everything set up in front of them. Everyday I am searching for something lol
Great video! Use the heatless curls headband technique & take 2 min the night before to wrap your hair....you can take literally 1-2 min in the morning to do your hair! No curling iron required!
Rita Romney , she does have gorgeous hair! I used to do hair, so i def can say that having beautiful hair is all about the way you take care of it and your hair cut def can make a HUGE difference in having great hair! Any style hair can look great with the right cut no matter thick, thin, curly or straight! She uses good products and also teases and curls for volume, so that helps tremendously with volume!
Rita Romney, forgot to add...color can change the way your hair looks too! She has highlights which gives her hair more definition, so it makes it look even fuller! Mixture of high and low lights look great for a more thicker looking head of hair!
@@jessicarenae5107 That may be true, but she has a lot of hair that curls. Not everyone has that privilege. I take great care of my hair, however, there is no way on God's green earth that my hair would curl and stay that way long enough to get to work. Within 30 min it is flat against my head. Curling forget it. My Native American hair just doesn't do it. Even trying to put in a barrette or a rubber band, I have to hairspray it in otherwise it just slips out. I do have beautiful hair. It is soft, shiny and bouncy. However, it does not have the volume hers has. Be careful and you are not telling people everyone can have her hair. No we can't. Healthy hair does not equate to her gorgeous locks. When I read your message, I felt like you were telling people everyone can have her hair. Just ain't so honey.

I have "full face", "half face", "low face" and "no face". "No face" is usually if I'm not leaving my apartment the whole day. But my "low face" bare minimum for going to "Outside" is mascara, blush, and lip gloss. I also use BB Cream tinted -moisturizer- usually (instead of foundation) so I don't feel guilty if I haven't washed my face the night before and just blot my face with a grease square thingy from Clean and Clear in the morning.
Honestly you would be so happy if you decided on your everyday essentials and keep them out and easy to reach. I have an extremely tiny bathroom with (literally) zero counter space, only a pedestal sink. I used to dig thru my medicine cabinet every morning for my makeup but once I had my daughter I realized ain't nobody got time for that. I got a makeup mirror and put it and my essential makeup in an open tray on a desk in my bedroom and holy crap. It saves SO MUCH TIME. I have my face brushes in one mason jar and eye brushes in another so those are easy to find too. Do it, you will be thrilled with how much time you save! The rest of your makeup can go in a bin somewhere else for date nights and special occasions!
I am impressed….it takes me 45-60 minutes to get ready for work everyday!!! I need to find a way to cut down the time and still look good! That is the total time to do everything from brushing teeth, washing face, makeup, hair and getting dressed.
*Mascara is the key to look best! Tip :put the wand at the very base of your lashes and while your brushing it through, spin the wand! It'll give a lot more length and fullness! It's honestly the best tip!*
I don't have a fun, creative saying for 15 mins, but it was so cute and funny the way you're chewing out the timer, lol. Laughed a few times at this video. Eyes take the longest for me as well, especially if I do eyeliner. Lately I just to mascara on my eyes.
I love this. This is real life. Its super hard to get ready in 8 minutes when you hae a LO and dont sleep much...honestly, most days I end up with mine in french twist....applies for work.
Brilliant video!! You looked fantastic after 8 minutes, you totally could have just stopped! But I get that you like your hair done and "did" looking! Great job!!
Your hair really is fabulous! Sometimes for a really quick curl I do the ponytail trick- put my hair into a high pony and section it into 3 or 4 chunks and curl and let it all down. Meh... It works!
I keep my everyday makeup in a separate bag, dump it out and throw it back in as I'm done using it. Saw it on another channel a while back & its a huge time saver! I've got 2 sets of twins but I always manage to throw something on to make myself feel better when going out. People already stare like I have 4 heads so I might as well make them think I'm put together ;) Now I'm going to time myself to see how long it takes me :)
You rocked it. I have short hair so it takes longer then when it was long. At least you could do a quick braid or pony or bun if you were rushed for time. But wow you did your makeup fast. I would need 15 minutes.
Would you mind explaining your haircut and exactly how to get it? I would love to have mine cut that way. and it would be great to share with my hairstylist. also, would it work with someone that has fine hair?
peachy keen in thirteen. less mean in fourteen..... may I say you look so much younger without makeup, really fresh faced. I enjoyed seeing this more spontaneous side of you. What's next? maybe a vlog? A 7 days diary of hair and make up looks - timed...
Hey have you tried the Benefit gimme brow fiber gel? It’s mascara for your eyebrows and so quick! My go to for looking polished fast (I often wake up late and have to look presentable). But it’s nice because it looks like your brows are just naturally that gorgeous. And I also love using the MAC primer and the Naked basics for everyday eyes. So pretty and simple. Wanna try the texture spray tho! The dry shampoo smells awesome!
Love this video. And loved seeing Luke!!! He is adorable! If I take too long putting my make up on my husband (and my dad used to say this too) says "This isn't prom...". Makes me laugh!
I thought you did a fantastic job and looked beautiful! Have you tried the L'oreal Voluminous Mascara instead of the Younique? I have used both and find that the L'oreal gives great coverage in two to three swipes versus the Younique with the mascara and the fibers... That might save you some time. I'm gonna watch the hair part again though because you styled it so effortlessly!
P.S. Have you tried living proof flex shaping hairspray? It's the best spray I have ever used. If I don't have time to do my hair I lift up sections and spray. It gives me lift. Then I run my hands through my hair and give a light spray. Lasts all day. Better then any sticky texturizing spray.
right on time in 14:59 with the help of caffeine I'm done in 15 my rushed routine in only 15, anything less, I'll look like a mess. hehe lift your esteem in just 15 time to preen in just 15
Honestly. Moms and wives are the hardest working being on the planet. Its ok if you take a little more time for yourself in the morning. I know you have a Shi* ton of stuff to do, but you are worth it.
How about Feel like a queen in fifteen? Loved the video and your honesty ☺ But feel like I need to point out that you must've also had time to wash and dress too. Juggling kids and feeling presentable in the mornings is a real task! Keep up the great work and blogs 👍

You seem like a very nice person, unlike many of the people who have commented....great tips, you are lovely.
Wow just seeing this after your January 2020 on straightening your hair. Luke was so adorable.
Hahahahahahaha! This is the best girl! God bless you. I’m so encouraged to put it all together on my days off!

Great video! Use the heatless curls headband technique & take 2 min the night before to wrap your hair....you can take literally 1-2 min in the morning to do your hair! No curling iron required!

You're so fun to watch, love your videos!
Love how you actually did this in “real time” without setting out all your make and everything up first.
Such a down to earth video! Love it. And as a mom I can relate to minimal get ready time 😘
Really enjoyed watching this, much more realistic than the five minute I've seen in the past.
I wish I looked the good without makeup. You are gorgeous!!!!!!
OMG I love your commentary at the beginning! So funny! Love this!

lol I can't believe that much makeup is a light day! my light day is primer/concealer to my eyelids, mascara, and some brow filling!
Brilliant video!! You looked fantastic after 8 minutes, you totally could have just stopped! But I get that you like your hair done and "did" looking! Great job!!
I loved this video....I am a teacher and since school is starting soon, I want to cut down on my "getting ready" time.
Your hair really is fabulous! Sometimes for a really quick curl I do the ponytail trick- put my hair into a high pony and section it into 3 or 4 chunks and curl and let it all down. Meh... It works!
Thank you so much for doing this real life "get ready" video. Thank you for sharing the steps and thought process! Thank you again :)
You looked stunning!! Makes me want to set the alarm just a little earlier, so I can have some me time before the kiddos get up :)
Your hair is so pretty, I can't even!

Love it! Do you mind sharing what color you're wearing on your nails? Thanks!
Loved the video! I can not find that GHD 1.5" curling iron online. The largest I could find was the 1.25". Do you have a link where I can find it?
I ❤️ your videos ~ I’m addicted to watching them!!!! Kate 😍🤗
LOVE this! So real and refreshing, and the name is perfect :)
I love your hair videos! What curling iron and hair spray are you using in this video?
Love your hair. I have a wand and going to get that curling iron. Thank you
this is hysterical so far nice eyelashes
I was waiting on the lipstick! LOL You did good.
That was awesome! Love the real lifeness! Thanks Kate!
This looks so stressful and fun! Lol. I wish I could get hair as big as yours!!
Why do you apply eye makeup first? Also, concealer over powder, seems backwards, just trying to learn the process, thanks! Super cute!
I was surprised how dark your hair is on the bottom layers! I so want your hair color but not sure I could get it!
You rocked it. I have short hair so it takes longer then when it was long. At least you could do a quick braid or pony or bun if you were rushed for time. But wow you did your makeup fast. I would need 15 minutes.
So nice to see someone apply makeup and do hair like a normal person.
What was the foundation you used? It looks amazing
Fab i now must time myself.. i love all your hair video's as we have similar hair so you share great tips and love the up do's which i use often :)
Love your video!! Lovely style and practical!!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Love this video. And loved seeing Luke!!! He is adorable! If I take too long putting my make up on my husband (and my dad used to say this too) says "This isn't prom...". Makes me laugh!
So funny! Tried this and it took me 1 hour and 15 mins! I need work on my curling iron skills!
+Jill Miller Ha! That would be me too!
LOVE your glasses!!!
You look great in fifteen! Wish I could get ready that fast for school
Looking like a Queen in Fifteen!
I wish I could look HALF that good in 15 minutes. It takes me FOREVER to get ready! Do you ever use cream products over that airbrush foundation?
P.S. Have you tried living proof flex shaping hairspray? It's the best spray I have ever used. If I don't have time to do my hair I lift up sections and spray. It gives me lift. Then I run my hands through my hair and give a light spray. Lasts all day. Better then any sticky texturizing spray.
My hair wouldn't look as good as yours even If I spend 2 hours styling it! Great job! xoxo
Also your hair is getting so long!! I love it!!

Love your videos!! Please keep doing what you do! 😘
If you use root lifter for fine hair, do you still need moose ? What other products do I need to protect my hair from the heat of the blow dryer?
Honestly. Moms and wives are the hardest working being on the planet. Its ok if you take a little more time for yourself in the morning. I know you have a Shi* ton of stuff to do, but you are worth it.

Love your channel! ❤
I'm inspired. If you can do it, I can too. I'm going to do my best to pull it together in the morning.
Now I know how to put my barrel curling iron to good use.
what is the brand of your concealer and your eyebrow pencil??
How about Feel like a queen in fifteen?
Loved the video and your honesty ☺ But feel like I need to point out that you must've also had time to wash and dress too. Juggling kids and feeling presentable in the mornings is a real task! Keep up the great work and blogs 👍
I'll try it tomorrow while i'm in a rush to get out the door.
Can you do a video on your hair color?
Oh my goodness her hair looks great!!!
I guess you were fresh faced in eight! Hair from heaven in seven. I wish I could look that good, that quickly!!
Yes, I also thought pristine in fifteen. You have such a cute face before anything. Always great vids. Thank you!
