So glad to see more coverage for the Pixel 8. Most have only been focusing on the 8 pro. Some like me prefer the more compact size and that hazel color is sharp. This year Google managed to fix most all of the issues I had with the 6 and 7 models. I’m considering upgrading and getting the Pixel 8. Definitely nice to see Google stepping up and delivering more quality devices this year.
Great to see somebody looking at the regular pixel 8 all the reviewers look at the pro but some of us don’t want to carry a tablet in our pocket so looking forward to the full review
I'm really enjoying the Pixel 8 so far. Love the size and rounded edges. Speakers and camera as well. I have the Obsidian color as well but I may skin it soon.
So great they are finally making the Pixel a bit smaller. Currently own the Pixel 6. Previously had the 5, which is the perfect phone size imo. Will be buying the normal 8, not as small as the 5, but a welcome size decrease over the 6 :)
I got my Pixel 8 yesterday via Google Fi. This is a very nice upgrade over my P7, which I'm trading in. It has _better_ screen, speakers, biometrics, haptics, ergonomics, cameras & more. I'm excited.
@@davidfainitski4201I've seen one in store , lovely vibrant display, not muddy brown dim display like the 7 or 7a. The display looked similar to the Samsung A54 brightness and colour wise ( not a bad thing )
Hi Roy, I have been following you for many years and I enjoy watching your new video every time! I noticed that you like small phones and cases with a minimal design and I like it too!
Base model 8 = Best mobile smart phone design of 2023 hands down. People forget Google is still undercutting current Apple and Samsung base models. The price increases still is very competitive, especially with Apple and Samsung lacking software stack features. The other thing is that the 265gb model is also cheaper than others for only 60usd.
Great looking phone, but it would've been nice to see both models get a matte finish. A video on cases that are clear, but with a matte finish would be nice to see. Also consider doing a video showing a day with the Pixel 8.
One reason why someone would prefer the standard 60Hz is to reserve battery life. Sure, it may not be substantial but there are those who used devices with a 60Hz refresh rate for years (I, for one, did) and even though it may not be as smooth or buttery as a 120Hz refresh rate, it still does the job for simple tasks (texting, phone calls, scrolling the Internet and/or websites, light gaming, etc...I have no issues with having to turn on the Smooth Display!
Just got my Pixel 8 yesterday with a case protection OtterBox , and I love it 😎 I also prefer the Pixel 8 over pixel 8 pro which probably feels like mini tablet in your pocket, I have the Note 10 plus which is also a large phone, but I switched to Pixel 8 converted everything from my note 10 to the pixel 8. So much easier to carry around and to answer calls.
I sold my iphone 15plus after I held the Pixel 8. I love it ... cant wait go see what the regular 9 comes out. Also the 8A screen is not and high-end as the 8. But very good phone and camera on the 8a. But the 8 or 8 pro is the best to me.

Thank you for reviewing the Pixel 8. These big yt reviewers are only talking about the 8 pro. I got the hazel and it LOOKS GREAT!

The same dirty white on the display ?
@@davidfainitski4201 the whites are much whiter, and the display is markedly brighter on my Pixel 8 when compared my Pixel 7

By far, the best phone review I have seen. Earned a sub!
Very kind of you!

Where can I get this wallpaper

I had the same problem finding the hazel model I also made the decision to go with obsidian... Maybe next year
I want that wallpaper!
Thanks for this, I was confused that they didn't gave me a charging cable.
i love seeing how to customise the phone and updates
How long does it take for the price to drop?
Hi Roy, great review and help to decide 👌🏼 were can i find that wallpaper??
Black Phones are Love...❤️🖤❤️

Can I know where u got the wallpaper that you used on the pixel 8?
Mine will be here Monday. I was able to get the gray version. This will replace my 6a which has been having wifi and Internet connection issues.
Good recommendation. Thank you,
Whats it's normal display brightness nots ( not auto or HDR content brightness)
Doese the phone have a ear phone jack
Reminds me alot of the s10e
I got the hazel model uts great
The satin finish is only on the pro
I thought you was gonna get the pro version florez
I haven’t bought a pro version of the Google pixel yet. To be honest with you it’s hard swallowing that extra $300 pill when the base is so good.
@@RoyFlorez I respek that. How bright that display be this time around? I know pixels are known to have very dim displays.
@@BeautyofScent up to 2,000 nits so it’s pretty dang bright!
Roy, try some ours? -
