How complex magento even for a simple footer change

It is not complex for changing the footer. In fact, Magento is used for e-commerce businesses, that doesn’t focus on footers only.

hello Max, I am new on your channel and Magento 2, I have experience with M1 from 2015, in your installation video you don't talk about permissions on magento2 directory (I am working on Ubuntu 18.04), about this video: There is a way to replace the whole footer for a block with a phtml file an do the footer in regular HTML?
PD: I come from M1 and all this XML thing is very huggled for me, what is the benefit of using XML to everything?
