Before purchasing any other supplies though, I would try to make a couple more pairs and see if you get different results. A lot of jewelry making is just practice and the more you work with a material, the easier it is to make it do what you want.
These were some of my first earrings I ever made.. had to get a lil creative cause all I had were these little round flat 10mm painted coconut shell beads that had a center top hole but after some trial and error, figured out how to make it work. Have gotten soo many compliments on them! I biggest issue is making the top spiral a little open but still mostly even so it actually looks good, for attaching the earwire. Thanks so much for the inspiration!
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I am new at beading and I've become addicted to it. I subscribe to your videos and I buy from your store. I just got some beads in a few days ago and they are lovely. THANKS!
I have been having trouble trying to make something, you have inspired me, thank you! Love your tutorials and your store! I have bought from you on ebay, except through my husband's account! thank you so much!
Hi! I am sorry you are having troubles with the spirals. My best guess is that there is just a difference between the artistic wire and the square german wire - perhaps it is springier or does not hold it's shape as well? To get my spirals to lay flat, I really just pushed them against the stone and they stayed in place; this makes me think that it is perhaps the wire itself causing the different results.

Yes you can get the Fancy Square German Style Craft Wire on Beadaholique . com's website and it is 20 Gauge. The links for the supplies in this video are located in the video description underneath this video.
Hi I love your earrings and made them but find that the spirals are not as flat as yours, they tend to stick away from the stone. How do I get them to lay flat against the loops? Thank you for your help.
Also do you know how to make a wire spiral bezel for to make a bracelet for coin beads to be attached or glued on as I have a good few coin beads 25mm any info welcome,as I would like to make a set of bracelet andvring to go with the earring on your video thankyou🌹🌺👍
This project uses an 18mm puff coin agate bead. Regrettably, this specific bead was discontinued, but here is a link to similar options www.beadaholique.com/wsearch/result/?type_id=&q=focal%20bead%20coin&limit=40&material_filter=Gemstone&doc_count=17&shape=Round&size_ranges=12-20mm
What a gorgeous pair of earings !! If u do not have that kind of texture wire, if you hammered the wire, could u get a similar result ? P.s. Now I have a new style for gifts!!! You deserve ★★★★★!!
Cynthia Chambers Thanks for the compliments! You can definitely create a similar pair of earrings to these using regular, non-textured wire. If you want to add texture to the wire, you will only want to after you have made your spirals. If you hammer the wire beforehand, it will work harden it and you will not be able to make it swirl like shown in the video.
+Sara Carlini They range from 18 to 18.5 mm, roughly the diameter of a penny www.beadaholique.com/p-32189-purple-crazy-lace-agate-d-puff-coin-focal-beads-18mm-4.aspx
looooooooooove it!!! im getting into wiring, done some rings now i have all sorts of ideas to do with the spiral. question, does the spiral ever come loose or sort of out of shape if used with a larger stone like that? im assuming we should use the thicker wire if we use larger beads? or stones?
Thanks! This particular wire is very strong and does not bend out of shape for this bead but you are absolutely right, if you have a larger, and thus heavier bead or stone, you will want to make sure that you use a heavier gauge (thicker) wire to accommodate it. I have a friend who is particularly rough on her jewelry and I use her as my tester for my jewelry. So if I am trying out a new design that I think I want to make a lot of for sale at art fairs, I give her a free sample and have her wear it around for a week or two. She then reports back to me any design flaws.

Although the 20 gauge wire was discontinued, we still have 21 gauge square wire available here: www.beadaholique.com/silver-plated-square-german-style-craft-wire-21-gauge-028-in-2-5-meters.html Thanks for watching!
Hi Julie I used 18g copper wire to make the spirals. The problem that I have is that the wire keeps turning in the pliers so I struggle to make a spiral. I've tried with nylon pliers -also had a problem and also tried with chain nose pliers. I also find that the chain nose pliers mark the copper wire from all the attempts at making a spiral. Any suggestions. Many thanks Terry van der Peet
What I'd suggest is wrapping the ends of your pliers in something with just a bit of grip. We've used masking tape (also called painter's tape or paper tape in the US) for this and had it work well. A pair of metal flat nose pliers would probably be best for this, but you can try it on your chain nose pliers too.
LOVE these earrings but unfortunately the components - beads and wire are not avail on your website. What a huge disappointment. But thanks for sharing this fab project.
Regrettably, we can confirm these items have been discontinued, but just in case, we can confirm the size of the focal bead is 18mm diameter and the wire is 20 gauge German style wire. Thanks for watching.

Thank you!!! I love them, sooo ready to try and make some :)
Hermoso y fácil 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Haven’t tried it yet, but it seems this idea would look cute with a donut bead as well. Just attached a bit differently is all.
Over time, the silver plating can wear off. If you want a more durable finish, try silver filled or even sterling silver.
Very nice!!!!
me encantaron!!! y muy sencillos!!! gracias

Beautiful I Like It Very Much.
its really lovely: would have turned one set of spirals the opposite way round to make a proper 'pair' though :)
