I’ve seen her perform 4x and the thing you need to understand about Joy Woods is that her acting is just as good - if not better! - than her singing. And she’s apparently a dancer first! She’s going to be a massive massive star.
I saw this show twice, and Joy Woods and the entire cast were absolutely phenomenal. I don’t know how they performed these very challenging songs 8x a week (sometimes x2 a day!) 😮
I first came across Joy because of Little Shop Of Horrors (video clip). Everyone that saw her live said she was fantastic. She doesn't try to copy the original (even though she easily could).
Funny you say she doesn't look comfortable... I think it's part of her character she's portraying tbh.. I beg to differ because she absolutely slays the heck out of this song vocals, stage presence and all and I can't count how many times I've watched this performance..
