No crashes in mine Mac mini M2 16GB. I mainly use it for guitar/bass playing recording, no crashes or anything. I'm a developer too, but more on embedded field and backend. I don't use emulators. We deploy to AWS. So I just manage my instances from the mac mini. I don't have memory pressure issues. I have a 4TB SSD in an enclosure. Very good product. It's my first Apple product. I think I'll get a Studio next time since I'm satisfied.
the quality of these videos are astronomically great! god if only you would post more than just Sunday's! I mean it's understandable, the time and effort to bring this type of quality and editing does take time! but nevertheless i enjoy waking up and getting my morning hot chocolate or tea and enjoy watching!
Amazing vid, I bought the base m2 mac mini a couple months ago. Use it for light coding, admin work, lots of entertainment (youtube) and studying on Udemy/Notetaking on notion. No hiccups, love my mac!
other video's feel like reviews, your videos feel like a story is being told. Its also ingenious how you weave ad spots in. never once did i fast forward or skip to certain parts, always watching from start to finish. kudos man!
Excellent review. I battled with the idea of getting a Mac Mini a while back. I considered future proofing and ultimately ended up getting the M1 Max Mac Studio 1TB. Then like a month later, the M2 Mac Studio came out. My M1 Mac Studio is still performing excellently.
It doesn’t matter whether the video is relevant to me or not but the entire production value and voice is a treat to watch..I dont have macmini but still i watched the entire video
I mainly use mine for programming, took it into deep waters, especially for my last year of uni. keeping loads apps open for long periods of time (days and weeks), even when im not using it, its a very good machine in terms of performance, but only problem is it crashes quite frequently. id take a break or wake up and come back to it having a full restart saying its crashed which was just frustrating. -base m2 pro
dude! Laifen changed my life! though i wasnt used to the vibrations, after some tweaks, goddamn... ITS A LIFE CHANGER! soon i am getting a Mac Mini too!!!!!!!
I had a M1 Studio I used for Audio in my studio but found myself using my MBP too often and having to transfer files so I sold it. Fast forward about 6 month and I'm really missing having something in there for light use. Picked up a base model Mini and it's great and if I don't use it a lot I don't feel like I have wasted a bunch of $$$. Definitely more than powerful enough for general use and light audio work, especially if you already have external NVMe drives for speed. Very nice review!
Still rocking the M2 Mac Mini with 16 GB, grabbed it on sale through B&H. It's the best value Mac you can buy imo. I still have my Windows Desktop as a min rig, but my partner loves it for their schooling. PS, thanks for doing the LC C2 video, grabbed an LG C3 and it's perfect for my PC as a monitor!
@@andresvidoza Nahhh, I thought Apple was smoking something heavy with those storage prices. I ended up doing the latest Satechi Mac Mini Hub, and grabbed an Western Digital SN770 M.2 SSD 1 TB and set it up as an external SSD drive. (Storage was enough for my SO and was cheaper, got it for $58.04 off Mercari brand new)
I want to get a Mac Mini for mainly office work (When I get a job, hopefully), and for personal use: writing research, novels, nonfiction writing, writing scripts, and essays. The most intensive thing I might do is compile teaching materials (videos, images, texts) on iMovie or something like that - and that's not done at a professional level. Just for educational purposes. Since Mac Mini M4 is out of stock everywhere in my country, will an 8GB of RAM suffice for this workload? Thanks.
Loved the video. The M2 Pro Mini has been my daily PC for most things after switching from Windows. I’ll be keeping an eye on what Apple does for the next refresh because I was interested in the Mac Studio before I settled on the Mini.
My first M series computer was the base M1 mini when it released. Ultimately I ended up with a base M3 Pro MBP 14, and for me it's the best all around computer. I've used external storage for years, with Windows and Mac, and still am with the MBP.
Interesting video, I've been thinking of getting a mini to play around with the swift language in general. Seeing it can handle what you were doing, which would be 4x what I'd be doing learning the language, makes me feel like it'll be a safe investment to later on get something that packs a bit more of a punch like the m2 Pro.
Hey bro, i have mine ( M2Pro 16Go ) since now 1 year ( bought on the Appel Refurb with a good price )... i switched after 20 years of custom PC and it's my best decision ever ! i'm very happy with this mac mini. Waiting now for your video about how to optimize and configure it !
I like the feedback and the experience! I have a 2017 27" 16GB iMac for everyday desktop use - no gaming, streaming, or movies, with only Photoshop Elements photo-editting, and I'm considering upgrading to an M2 mini with 16GB Ram, 256 GB storage, and a Satechi NVME Hub with 2Tb SSD storage. I haven't figured out the best [or best value] monitor [speakers if needed], mouse and keyboard yet. I'll also need to get a router that can provide 2.4GHz WiFi as an option. Suggestions for trade-off and costs?
if your trying to hold off for the new mac mini with the M4 chip. A quick solution to your situation could be picking up a mac mini dock with a M.2 SSD expansion disk in it and transfer the thing you already have worked on to that drive to free up the space on your dedicated drive just a suggestion. Me personally when buying a product i would have all these considerations in mind before buy things to include that this purchase is work related so in theory the produce your purchasing will pay for itself.
I am actually confused between macmini vs custom windows cpu.. I can't ignore the performance of mac.. But I can't unsee the wide possibilities cracked software availability for windows..
I bought myself an m2 16gb ram/256 gb rom , mainly because the storage can be expanded externally, but not the ram. My experience has been very good since I’m coming from a 2019 intel MacBook pro The 8gb ram variant will constantly rely on swap memory when it runs out which tends to degrade the ssd very quickly. If you can pick one upgrade for the base model (extra ram or extra storage), get the extra RAM
Hi, great video :) could anyone tell me if they are experiencing Bluetooth problems with the M2 Mac mini?? I’ve read there’s quite a lot of Bluetooth issues.
I'm always of the opinion that you buy with the future in mind, especially with the extortionate upgrade prices on the M-series machines. I've got external TB4 storage for my base M1 Max Mac Studio. If I was buying the M2 Mini, I'd feel going for the model with 16GB and 512Gb (to avoid the single NAND chip issue) would be the most basic purchase with external storage.
Nice video. I am looking to get a mac computer any tips about it? Is it true that a M4 mac mini is coming out? How good is the mac mini with conplining code is it fast? Is it good at rendering videos any good or is there problims with it? Would it be good for game devlempet ?
I’ve never owned a Mac but I think I’m gonna wait until they drop an m4 Mac mini. I’m starting to dabble in art 3D modeling and coding. I think a Mac mini would be perfect companion to my iPad Pro
All base models really should have at least 2tb, it doesn’t matter if it’s macOS or windows. There are applications upwards of 30gb and video games that go well over 200gb.
Hey man. awesome video. I thinking of getting this. Would 8 GB be enough for Unity? Just doing some 2D game dev projects mostly hypercasuals. i'll say 5 chrome tabs and VS Code. Would I regret getting this??

I actually see potential in the 16 512 M4 mac mini from apple as base model. First they upgraded the base model iphone storage at the 14, then they upgraded the base model iPad Air 6 now… Anyways, it would be interesting and understandable, nearly essential to upgrade the base model mac mini. Great video as always, and congrats on growing man, you deserve it!
