Beautiful photos. Love the way the 85 allows subject isolation. I usually shoot wider but I'll have to look into that. I saw you use manual focus a bunch of times, but also seems like AF sometimes, e.g. at 2:51 . When using AF, what AF settings do you use?

Hey I'm pretty new to photography, why does the camera zoom in sometimes? Is this something you do or will it do it automatically to get the right composition? Also the results are absolutely beautiful, China is a paradise for photo opportunities!
Hey! In my case, it's a mixture of two things. The first reason is because I'm shooting sometimes with the super apsc mode enabled, which is a feature on the Sony A7C that crops the shot, giving that zoomed in composition. The second reason is sometimes I crop the shots during editing. Hope that helps! 😊
@@streetops2519 I think he ment the zoom when pulling focus. This is a setting you can disable if you dont want it, but pretty nice to have. Easier to check if you are in focus :)
Hell yeah, this is great! I gotta get to China. This setting is a street photographers wet dream. The mind boggles with shot opportunities. Your grading pairs perfectly too. Definitely subscribing 🙌 I use the same combo around NYC and it just never disappoints. I don't think you can beat the A7c for discrete lightweight kit for urban photography. I also really like the Sony 35/2.8 Zeiss. It's damn near pancake sized but the results are stunning.
It really is a street photography paradise! It's actually super easy to get overwhelmed with just how much is going on at any given moment! I have to agree, the form factor of A7C is just perfect for this kind of work. I was thinking of getting the sony 35mm 1.8 but I'll check out the lens you mentioned to. @@streetops2519 I think the reason to choose the 35/2.8 ZA is used price (cheap!), size (smaller than 28-60 even), and image style (great bokeh, bit of the ol' Zeiss pop). Is that enough to compensate for the 35/1.8 faster aperture, AF/MF switch, and custom barrel button? Dunno- but it was for me! Either way, it's a win-win. Two great lenses. Look forward to whatever new videos you're cooking up 🤘
@@SourPlanet Have you tried the samyang 35 2.8 its even lighter and smaller. IQ is a bit behind from the ZEISS what I've heard and its not weather sealed, but its the lightest option available with only about 80 grams :)
@@Bojanr. I haven't tried that one. 80 grams is crazy though! There's a bit of warble on my gimbal with the 35/2.8 (it's technically for point and shoot cameras but the A7c is tiny). The Samyang might fix that issue. Thanks for the reminder. I had their 45/1.8 at some point and it was kinda shockingly good.

Hey Awang! Thanks for your questions! 1. Yep, I think you can achieve similar results with the a7ii, but I think the A7C has better high ISO performance if you're shooting at night. 2. I use my own presets, which I create on Adobe Lightroom. I will make a video about the editing process soon. 3. For this shoot, I was shooting in aperture priority mode, with a minimum shutter speed set at 1/250 I think. You can set a minimum shutter speed in your camera menu. For street photography, I prefer aperture priority mode so that I can get consistent aperture while shooting things on the go. If I'm looking for something with blurred people walking by, I'll switch over to shutter speed priority or even manual if it's a planned shot. 4. The photos are all edited on Lightroom. Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions!

The a7c is a cool camera. I've thought about buying one. But without a joy stick how do you move the focal point around? Can you use the D pad?
