Book reader here. The book is so dense and complex with so many ideas, plots and characters, it is impossible to really translate it into a movie. But director Denis Villeneuve has come as close as anyone before. A few things that are prevalent in the book shorted or easy to miss in the first movie include Mentats. Those are the characters who are trained as human computers because artificial intelligence has been banned. We get only a few scenes of Mentats in the first movie. Also, the use of hand weapons is because the shields make projectiles such as bullets and lasers less effective. “The slow blade penetrates the shield”. We don’t see much of the space navigators in the first movie. They are the mutated humans who take large doses of spice in order to calculate the paths between planets in interstellar travel. Also, the big picture about the books is that Frank Herbert didn’t mean them as a simple “hero’s journey” story but more of a deep dive and critique of how mythical and heroic figures, and the consequences of people fanatically following powerful leaders. Paul is meant as a critical look at the results of creating a “superhuman” being.
omg Hunter is so sweet, pls bring him back!! 😭😭😭 also another great video as usual, i actually never read dune or watch the movie, AND I HAD NO IDEA TIMOTHY CHAMALETE IS IN IT OMG that reason alone makes me wanna watch the movie! but i’m fs gonna get the book, never had an interest for it till this video! 😅 (also ur scream when they kissed 😭🤣)
WHEN I TELL YOU ARE A HUGE REASON I KEEP POSTING! You're encouragement & comments make me CRY 😭😭 Hahaha I died when they kissed lol! 😂😭 Also let me know when you start the book, it's a THICC boy! Also we love Timothee Chalamet stan 👀👀
You guys are relationship goals haha. Love the reaction. Excited for this and never read the books. Looking forward to Butler’s Feyd-Rautha. Need more trailer reactions even tv or film reactions w/you two if you got time.
They didn't mention it in the first movie when they explained the operation of a stillsuit but the idea is to breathe in through your mouth and exhale through your nose. This way, the moisture in your exhaled breath can be captured by the tube running to your nose.
I've read the book and the following novels as well. They're great they influenced all of sci-fi as much as Tolkien influenced fantasy. I hope the movie remains as close to the novels as the first did, it was a masterpiece. I wonder how long the movie will be they have alot to cover. While the romance subplot in the book is kinda short, it works easily in a novel. With Zendaya though I hope she gets her due, as well as Florence Plough in first novel her scenes are limited but impact full there is just so much to get through I thought they might have had to make thus a trilogy but from the trailer it appears to be just two movies. I can not wait.

They really should've explained that in the movie! That makes a TON of sense!
The audiobook on Audible is a good option. The production is pretty good, it's not a monotone read also, it's about a 21-hour audiobook
Okay! I've done audibooks around 17 hours so I think I could totally do a 21 hour audiobook! Thank you!
You two are so cute ….. wonderful reactions ‼️
Thank YOU so much!!! 💖
