At first I was disappointed when I found out that Zelda was getting spin off treatment. But now I'm really excited for this game.
I love seeing people complain about the mooks not all attacking you. What, do you want to not be able to move at all? If they all did, you would die realllly quick.
Oh, and that is a mode in the game. It's the hardest difficulty. I'll give you 5 seconds on it to change your opinion on the mooks not attacking.
See everyone? This guy gets it. The mooks are really just there to get in the way, either by getting in your way directly or messing up all your forces while you complete objectives.
If anything, you have to worry about the bosses and special enemies
The people who complain have obviously never played a dynasty warriors game
Don't get me started on the generals who can grab and choke slam you, killing you in one shot with full health, and that can be in normal mode. I'm still playing through Dynasty Warriors 8, and setting difficultly higher, you will not be button meshing your way to the top. You will have to learn how to block and counter moves. Balance that while trying to do missions successful.
And in some Dynasty Warriors games, some of the mooks actually join up and try their own special moves, ganging up on you. And I may be wrong here, but if the enemy's morale is greater, they may attack more often too.
Totally forgot about the morale bar. Yeah, morale actually affects how each side fights.
High morale=more attacks and increased strength
Low morale=less attacks and lower defense.
Morale applies to the AI, though. Not the player
This would have also been on the easiest difficulty in order to showcase things best.
I dont understand why people hate this game so much, I understand everyone likes different things, but this game is an awesome spinoff, and this is a point to have in mind, REMEMBER, this game has nothing to do with the main series, its just something different and, as someone said in the comments, reserve your judgments until you play the game.
When I watched my friend play Dynasty Warriors 7 on PS3, I nearly fell asleep because it looked incredibly repetitive and stale. That's the ONLY thing I'm worried about with this game. The fact that Midna is a playable character has me excited. It's a damn shame she didn't make it in the next Smash. She had so much potential there...

DW7's gameplay was a bit lamer than DW8. And it's usually the spin-off Warriors that tend to be a lot better than Dynasty Warriors.
The thing with DW games are that you either love them or hate them. There really isnt an in-between.

The 2 things I've been loving the most about this:
1. Link being the badass we've always known he is but rarely get a chance to show.
2. All the classical Zelda theme remixes!
Lana's the best new character ever.
I think this trailer does a great job showing Lana. In her stand alone trailer, people just thought she was "too anime-ish" to be part of the Legend of Zelda world, but after seeing her hum the tune and get chased by cuccos, it seems like she fits in more imo
I can't believe how much my thought on this game has changed from the early E3 2013 trailer to now! This looks incredible! But a question: The bad guys, like Zant and Girahim - are they playable? Or are they enemies?
When they first showed this last fall I didn't think much of the game either but my mind has totally changed since then. This looks pretty awesome! :D

Dynasty warriors is known for having modes where you can play as the villains in kind of a "what if the villains won" scenario. Also, seeing as how ghirahim and zant seem to have full move sets and combos, I think there's a strong chance we can play as them.

I mean doing those three face shots in the first trailer along with the evil laugh was rather taxing on his skin and throat. There's a reason why there are such big gaps between Zelda games, he needs his beauty sleep after all that work.

1. Who is Lana?! (As has been said MANY times, she is a new character debuting in this game. No one ever seems to ask about Cia or Volga, just Lana for whatever reason....)
2. Why is Link the only boy?! (They have said the roster will have about the same number of males as females. They're either revealing the girls first to simplify, and/or villains are playable. Besides, Darunia was male, last I checked, and don't even get me started on Shiek.)
3. Omg, this will ruin Zelda, WHY NINTENDO?!?! (Clearly, the comment section does not comprehend the word spin-off....)

You forget to factor in the basic fact that the majority of human beings do not like to analyze or use much of their brain to process information. They want it to be explained/digested for them... or they are just looking for validation for their guesses.
Linestar777 I totally agree and get your point..but sometimes it should get to the point where one should realize that it is healthy if they (as that person) should find the answer too, yet people do prefer to have it given to them (and I'll be honest so do I at times and I know it's just as healthy to be given the answer as well too at times) but when I have a question usually I like to find out for myself because it gives me that "Aha!" moment where I feel like I accomplished something and I could share it (though someone before me could have known and done so as well) But all in all you are correct and I had no means to differ in your opinion but just to share =3

Analysis of the trailer:
I get it now. I was wondering how in the world (in story line aspects) would they put all these characters into one game. Sure you could do something just like a Hyrule history roster and we could ignore the story aspect. But you can see at 1:33 that they are showing a collision or fusion of these four Hyrules: The New Hyrule which this game "takes place" (perhaps the original Hyrule from the first LoZ game since they show it as a traveling map I think at 3:04), Ocarina of Time, Twilight Princess, and Skyward Sword. And my guess is the Master Sword is at the middle of it all since these are all Hyrule but at different times. Hence why there are no Majora Mask reps (Termina) and Wind Waker reps (Hyrule is underwater). But you do notice they pay homage to them by adding the Baton as a weapon at 2:47 and the Moon as an attack at 3:00 (right one) .So, the best warriors in all of Hyrule's history come together to fight in this game in one big time paradox. And I could not be more excited. :D

Question: How many times did you see this trailer before you noticed THE Moon from Majora's Mask!? 'Cause I completely missed it.
That being said, everyone who saw Nintendo Treehouse Live @ E3 play Hyrule Warriors (myself included) already knew about the moon attack.
And I'm just about as hyped for this game as you are.
Mario Mastar Unfortunately, though this game's story is 99.9% Zelda, it's non-canon.
Ratman Yeah, Nintendo never really was big on the whole "canon" thing. Most of the stories are meant to be disjointed with one kind of sequel and that's it. I think fan outcry is what caused Nintendo to connect the games and everything, but Mario has countless examples of them trying to pretend the previous games never happened.

I heard that the characters are only being pulled from OoT, TP, and SS.

For all those who are still in denial.
1. This is a spin-off
2. This is a worth while title-they even put old school zelda in it as a mini-game.
3. This offers allot when it comes to the cast.
4. This game is both local & online.
5. The Non split screen makes it feel even better due to full screen usage.
6. Cuccos yeah that is all.
7. The Special attacks have nice touch to them.
8. Cia & Lana fit nicely in this game due to its own story.
9. The story is different and so are the style of play but judging it and not playing does that make you a fan or a hypocrite.
Finally 10. As i said above this offers allot when it comes to Zelda you should all be proud that they did this as a thank you, I know I am as of this moment in time i'm proud to be a Nintendo fan boy.
So i hope this shows that there is allot more to this game don't judge it cause of others or the fact your narrow minded. Its not much but it is something and by god be proud that its like this. This is a breaking point in Zelda, items that didn't serve much of a extreme purpose do now. Characters you miss and wish you could play as appear again since how long. I don't know about allot of you and frankly i stand behind myself and those who may support this and say this deserves to be a a Day 1, this deserves to be in the Zelda archives as an achievement a breaking point.
So yeah let me wrap this up. What i'm saying is don't judge due to others on you tube or people who do reviews, judge cause of what you think and how you think. If you don't like it, that's ok but for the rest out there nice have fun i know i will.
P.S-Thank You again Nintendo, time and time again you push the limits on your IP and deliver top quality items this is worthy of Nintendo exclusive and a Collaboration achievement.
Now the only other Ocarina of Time characters they need to add are Saria and Malon. Saria could use forest magic and the Ocarina and Malon could ride Epona with a pitchfork and use farm animals for her other moves.
That would be cool. Not sure if Saria will be in though since one of Lana's weapons is a staff that can summon the Great Deku Tree. But since Impa and Ruto both use water, I'm sure Lana and Saria could share plant magic.
What about Nabooru? She was just as important as the other sages and I think her fighting style would be fun to use.
ShaRutherford199 I would love to see Nabooru. I hope she can use dual swords like the Gerudo from Ocarina of Time. She could also use sand magic since she is from the desert.
***** Yea that's what I was thinking, I think nearly every character someone mentions has a good chance of making it in if there are as many characters as there were in Dynasty Warriors 8. So hopefully everyone gets their dream characters!

This game is 3 years old but the need to add the last 3 sages from Ocarina of Time, Nabooru, Ruaru and Saria. And Groose. And for some reason I want the guy in the windmill that plays the Song of Storms.
So, each character also has a nemesis, it looks like.
Lana's nemesis? The Cucco.
Hate to say this to all you naysayers but I told you so that this game would be "Awesome". So what have we learned ! Hyrule Warriors is not a copy and paste clone of "Dynasty warriors" it pays so much respect to the Zelda Series.
It still operates a lot like a Warriors game, policy of "making anything a hitbox even if it makes less sense than The Room" and all

This looks absolutely amazing, now I wish I have a WiiU! Almost every character from the zelda series that I like is in this game so it'd be interesting to see them all interact with each other...the only character who's missing and who I want yo see is Vaati. Really hope he's in it too!
P.S. I really hope the Darunia in this game is the same on as the Darunia in OoT, but on the wiki site it says he's the sworn brother of the King of Hyrule? Did OoT Link become King then!?!?
Also, I hope Sheik is "his" own being in this game and not an alter ego of Zelda. I liked Sheik, I thought "he" was cool so I was a bit shocked/disappointed at the revelation of "him" being Zelda... I hope thats not the case in this game.

Well you can't say that it is only certain characters from certain games because the roster is actually going to be huge it was said by the creators that the roster will be half males and there is obviously not the same number of males as there is females

Im sorry to say this but this art style should have been for the next Legend Of Zelda, i like the new style for that one too but if they had went with something like this instead that would make it sell like heaven.
The new Zelda game looked better than this artistically and graphically. Not hating on this game, it looks great and I plan on buying it day 1, but the new Zelda looked amazing. You might be the only person I have ever seen that believed otherwise. I'm honestly curious as to what about this game you believe looked better than the new Zelda?

Simon Rockstream Yeah I think I understand what you mean. It's more a matter of preference it seems. Some people will prefer this, while others prefer the Zelda U style. We can't all like the same exact things all the time.
I just want to make things clear, i like Eiji Aonumas art style better than Hyrule Warriors.

Nintendo needs to get these guys to help with their main Zelda titles. These guys have done nothing but make the franchise that much better and their character and boss designs are great. The game overall is gorgeous aside from a few grass or rock textures here or there but that's not that big a deal. I would love a Zelda game with this look even though the wii u Zelda looks gorgeous, I think they should've waited on the realistic look from twilight princess and saved it until they had a powerful system like the wii u. Even that e3 tech demo was beautiful and vibrant but that was just a small demo and would be hard to pull off for a full game.

She is Queen, but Nintendo Treehouse seems to stick with calling her Princess because that's what we all know her as, yeah it's silly.
In the Japanese version she is queen. In the American one she is a princes. They always do that.
Apparently, she starts the game as a Princess, but her father dies at some point in the game, and she becomes Queen. Or so I've been told.

They're baby ones as well, when I saw a screenshot earlier of all the little Gorons I thought they were your army or something for the stage but now I've seen this trailer I don't think I'll be able to hurt them, they're so cute.
Also will Darunia beat up the other Goron's, that seems so cruel.
How about playing as a Goron and fight other Gorons?

It may just be me, but Lana just looks like a beautiful character. Not only is she pretty, but her movements are just so.... Graceful! She's so cute!
