I don’t know how Bernard King is ignored and slept on in nba history books . He was doing all this against a very good Lakers team that I believe went to finals that year and lost to the bulls . He was almost 34 years old , after I believe 2 ACL surgeries where at that time was ending careers still is , he averaged 28 ppg that year and he missed 2 full years of playing . No one really talks to much about how great this guy really was. He wasn’t even part of the 50 greatest players list in 1997. He used to give Jordan, Bird, and Magic fits. People have to put more respect on this man’s name and mention him more as one of the all time greats in nba history .

What a performance! Talk about a guy that sat down for 3 years to take care his knee injury. A complete comeback! Not to many basketball players can do that.
This game is indicative of how Bernard altered his game after the knee injury. Previously, he was more of an in the paint, turnaround J, spin move scorer. At Wash, he is more of a face up jump shooter who could catch and fire.
Bernard at this point of his career, had become more of a catch and shoot guy, as opposed to a low post scorer. A truly great player can adjust, as Bernard absolutely did and was.

I was hoping to see a King v Johnson duel but Magic either didn't show up or wasn't shown in this highlights reel. But it begs the question...who was better, King or Johnson?
